Horse Racing Tips: Tuesday, September 24th
Moe Race 4 (Market)
It is a difficult time to punt when the winter is coming to an end, I am not a big fan of horses going from the synthetic to the grass and vice versa, but of the two I definitely prefer the former. (7) Heyington Station has only been to the races once, that was at Pakenham on the synthetic track. This looks no harder and he is nicely drawn out with Meech certain to be positive early, something that John Allen wasn’t last time. Those that backed him on debut will still be feeling the pain, he jumped well and John Allen (for some reason) snagged him back worse than midfield. He saved ground and ran up behind the leader, held-up for most of the straight. The winner got very wide and ran over the top and had all the momentum, Heyington Station finally got out and flashed through between runners. Love the jockey change, he should be too good.

Moe Race 6 (Market)
(11) Joyous Bel has had two runs back this prep and is still yet to win out of maiden grade. He resumed at the 1200m at Sale and got a mile back and never got into the race. She then went to the 1300m at Seymour and once again got well back but hit the line better. She looks suited getting up in trip again and should be rock hard fit here third-up. There looks to be a fair bit of speed which suits, her maiden win was too impressive last prep for her not to win again soon. Back her each way.

Wyong Race 2 (Market)
(3) Iresign sat up on the speed on debut at Gosford and was beaten as favourite, they sent him straight to the paddock. He resumed at Hawkesbury two weeks ago, a track that can be very tricky and a lot of horses don’t seem to handle it. He again sat up outside the speed, took over early in the straight was run down and beaten 3 lengths. He will be fitter for the run no doubt and that on-pace style looks much better suited here at Wyong then where he has raced at his first two starts. (2) Big Bad Bruce looks the main danger, and I will say that if the money comes for him, don’t have him going around a loser. He has gone from Bjorn Baker to Joe Pride, that stable is renowned for pulling off some big go’s, especially on new additions to the yard. His trials have only been fair behind better horses, if there is no money for him the confidence will be sky high with Iresign.
Kilcoy Race 4 (Market)
(11) Submission is lining up for career start two, he showed some tactical speed on debut at Ipswich before sitting mid-field. He didn’t have much luck in the run and raced tight, no match for the winner but he did enough to get into second. Being drawn well is crucial here at Kilcoy, especially if you are only moderately away. He should be able to position up right behind the leaders and come with one run. This is a lot easier and although he was big odds on debut, happy to say that he won’t have to improve much to be winning this. Most of these have had enough chances and he looks to have more upside than them. One that could challenge would be (4) Hearts Like Ours, but he will get back in the run and is probably better suited on a bigger track.
