Horse Racing Tips: Tuesday, July 21st
Pakenham Race 1 - (Market)
(2) Fiery Dancer is a debutant for the Hayes/Hayes/Dabernig yard, the daughter of Choisir has not been seen at the official trials but has had two jump-outs at Flemington, winning the latest. She jumped away with them and sat three-wide without cover on the speed, she balanced up outside the leaders and was given a reminder early in the straight. She quickened nicely and was doing best through the line to win, a lovely hit-out in preparation for a race like this. I expect from the good draw she will be up on the speed for a long way. A replay of that jump-out can be found here.
(2) Fiery Dancer E/W
$6.50
Pakenham Race 5 - (Market)
A small field with the early scratching in what looks a very competitive race. (6) Yankee Lou has had one go on the synthetic track, at his latest start at Ballarat in a similar race to this. He settled back in the field and made good ground, he was beaten a long way into second but the form out of the race looks strong. The winner Nine Clouds came out and won again in a harder race after being very well backed. He comes back in trip, I anticipate that the speed will be on in the small field and he will only need luck getting off the inside to run them down late.
Wyong Race 2 - (Market)
(8) Lake Marion has placed at half of her six career starts, two of those placings coming this campaign. She led and stuck on well for third when resuming before not having any luck second-up at Newcastle, forget she went around that day. She was again at Newcastle last start, was forced to sit up outside the leader and although the winner was way too good, she stuck on well for second. There doesn’t appear to be as much speed here and with the apprentice riding again, I like the wide draw as she can work across and find the front. Go again in the run if she does land on the bunny around here with the short run home. (2) Emthree retains the services of Gibbons, he was good getting home late at his past couple but giving them a start around here is not ideal. Happy to be against him.
