The Saturday twilight fixture in AFL Round 16 will see Gold Coast play hosts to Collingwood at Heritage Bank Stadium. The Suns look to be a team on the rise and will get to test themselves against the benchmark of the competition, which should make for a fantastic battle. Gold Coast vs Collingwood

Are Gold Coast a genuine finals contender, or will they fail to finish in the top eight once again? We’ll find out a lot about them this Saturday when they welcome ladder-leaders Collingwood to the Heritage Bank Stadium.
Gold Coast, like most teams, failed to win in their first game back from the bye which was against Carlton in Round 14. They were outhunted and outclassed from start to finish in that 59 point loss, but quickly bounced back to winning ways against the Lowly Hawks last weekend, whom they defeated by a whopping 67 points.
The Suns have now won three of their past four and six of their past nine matches since starting the season 1-4. That makes them an even 7-7 on the season and only percentage outside the top eight prior to Round 16 getting underway.
In contrast, Collingwood have been in winning form since the very beginning of the season. Along with the Power, the Magpies have an impeccable 12-2 record to their name and their only two losses came against fellow top sides in the Lions (Round 4) and most recently the Demons (Round 13).
Last time out the Magpies were fortunate to get the chocolates against a plucky Crows outfit. They had to do what’s almost become customary for this side, which is come back from a three-quarter-time deficit to steal a narrow victory.
The Magpies will have to be at least close to their best again this weekend if they’re to chalk up another victory. The Suns have proven to be a tough team to handle when they’re fit and firing, which is clearly the case heading into Saturday’s clash.
However, even considering the hot form of the Suns it’s almost impossible to bet against the Magpies this season. They’ve made a habit of clicking into gear when needed and overrunning teams in the fourth quarter.
I’m happy to back in the Magpies to secure win #13 at what are fairly generous odds all things considered.
