Round 15 in the AFL will kick off on Thursday night as the Dockers host the Bombers at Optus Stadium from 8.10pm (AEST). The Dockers did enought to get the win last week and will need to keep that momentum going here against the Bombers who appear to be on the slide after an injury-ravaged season. The game has big finals implications for the Dockers, so they won't want to be dropping this one.

Fremantle vs Essendon: 2025 AFL Round 15
Dockers Keep Sailing, But Win Over Roos Far From Smooth
The Dockers are one of the form teams in the competition at the moment, having won their last four games on the spin, two of those coming at Optus Stadium. It also helps that they were gifted an additional home game last week against the Kangaroos and get to spend a month at home which is rare for them.
However, they weren’t super convincing against North Melbourne last weekend, winning by just six points to move to 8-5 on the season and move one game clear inside the top eight. Caleb Serong was the standout performer in the win, racking up 36 disposals and eight clearances, catapulting himself into the top five rated players in the league.
Bombers Tailspin Continues
At 6-4 after Round 12, the Bombers had a golden opportunity to secure a spot inside the top eight and fight for that elusive finals win. They have, however, gone on to lose their last three straight games to the Lions, Blues and most recently, a 95-point demolition job at the hands of the Cats at the MCG. Despite a poor run of form, the Bombers have had a few bright spots, particularly Sam Durham, Nic Martin and Jye Caldwell, all 25 or under and all rated in the top end of the league.
Bombers Ward at Capacity, While Freo Awaits Fresh Legs
Unfortunately for the Bombers, an extensive injury list has probably been the catalyst to their inconsistent form this season. It doesn’t look like they will get much relief this week either, with Cox, Draper, Jones, Langford, McKay, Reid and Ridley all still sidelined through injury and Durham still missing through suspension. Luckily, they got through the clash against the Cats unscathed, so there are at least, no additions to the injury list this week. The Dockers could get some big inclusions this week, with Jaeger O’Meara, Alex Pearce and Michael Walters all facing fitness tests to return from injury.
Dockers or Bombers? Here’s our Fremantle vs Essendon Tip
This could be quite a close clash if the Bombers were at full strength, but it’s hard to give them much of a chance with so many key players out while simultaneously battling what will be a rampant Dockers crowd at home. The Bombers are seriously limited in key position players at both ends of the ground with Langford, Jones, Ridley, Redman, McKay and Draper all on the sidelines and now come up against one of the bigger teams in the league, packed full of oversized forwards particularly. The Bombers defence will be stretched to breaking point here, expecting the Dockers to cover the 29.5 point line.

Fremantle vs Essendon Player Prop Bets
Our Best Player Prop: Jye Amiss 3+ Goals
The key forward has had a bit of a tough year to date, kicking 17 goals and just four in his last five games. I think this could be where he finds some form though and there is some great value about him kicking 3+. The Bombers allowed 10 goals to key forwards in Jeremy Cameron and Shannon Neale last week as the cats piled on 23 in total. Amiss should get plenty of opportunity here.

Fremantle Over 91.5 Points - The Bombers are the 15th rated defence in the league at the moment and have allowed some monster scores in recent weeks due to their serious deficiencies down back. They have allowed 100.8 points per game over their last five and whopping 151 last week.
Caleb Serong 25+ Disposals - One of the top rated players in the league at the moment, Sarong has been on a tear in recent games. Sarong is averaging 28.9 disposals per game and has had 25+ in his last five straight games. Had 32 against the Bombers last year.
Nic Martin 25+ Disposals - Has been at his accumulating best over the last few months, averaging 30.8 disposals across his last six games. Has had 25+ in all of those games and had the same amount against the Dockers last year.
