Big night of esports action coming up this Tuesday, the 9th of June headlined by some great matchups in the CS:GO Dreamhack Masters, which has reached the bracket stage! See our best bets for the night below.
G2 vs Natus Vincere
DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 – Europe
Natus Vincere started their journey into the online CS scene with a disastrous performance at the ESL One: Road to Rio – CIS, where they finished 7th-8th, winning only two games against Espada and pro100 but losing against Virtus.pro, Syman and Hard Legion. NaVi improved slightly since then, as they lost only one match in the last five against ENCE, while they won two proper BO3 matches against Vitality and Ninjas in Pyjamas. NaVi's last two fixtures were played against FaZe and mousesports at Gamers Without Borders 2020, but considering that was a charity event, with a completely different RM12 format, I don't see any reason to value those results too highly.
G2, on the other hand, finished the ESL One: Road to Rio - Europe as runners-up, after they lost the grand finals against Astralis. While G2's placement is honestly impressive, I have my doubts whether they really deserved to make it so far. G2 got very lucky in the playoffs, and should be extremely happy they even made it to so far. As for their DreamHack Masters campaign, G2 lost their opening match against North and bounced back to win against Heroic and depleted Astralis.
The last time these two teams met was back in the finals of IEM Katowice, where we saw Natus Vincere completely outclass G2 and win the series 3-0 without any real issues. While Natus Vincere haven’t looked as strong online as they were back on LAN, they have improved recently and should be coming into this match hungry for a win. Despite that don’t trust NaVi nor G2 enough to win an online match, so I have to bet on the series to go the distance. Bet on Over 2.50 maps.
BIG vs FaZe
DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 – Europe
Both teams are coming into the match with only one loss in the last five matches. BIG lost against Sprout in the finals of ESL Meisterschaft Spring 2020 and defeated ALTERNATE aTTaX, Complexity, and twice Unicorns of Love. FaZe on the other hand, lost against Natus Vincere and picked up wins against G2, Fnatic, Spirit and GODSENT.
As for their DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 – Europe campaigns, BIG won all of their matches with the scoreline of 2-1 against MAD Lions, mousesports and Complexity. FaZe produced similar results, winning 2-1 against GODSENT and Spirit and 2-0 against Fnatic. In their narrow win against Spirit, the latter had to play with a stand-in instead of their star player and I am sure the result would be much different if that wasn't the case.
These two teams have only played a total of two matches in their entire history and both were back in 2019. FaZe Clan took the first match 2-1 at the ESL Pro League Season 10 Europe, while BIG Clan took the second match 2-1 at the ECS Season 8 Europe Week 3. Both matches featured close maps and since these two teams have a pretty similar map pool, I expect to see another close match that can end with all three maps played.
Neon Esports vs Reality Rift
BTS Pro Series Season 2: Southeast Asia
Neon Esports will play their opening fixture of BTS Pro Series Season 2: Southeast Asia this Tuesday when they will meet with Reality Rift. This will mark Reality Rift's fourth fixture of the tournament, where they will hope to see more success as in their last three matches, none of which ended the way Reality Rift had hoped.
So far, Reality Rift already lost to Fnatic (0-2) and Adroit (0-2) but managed to seal a draw against Geek Fam (1-1), which keeps them in the race for a top-four finish, but only just. Neon will enter this match with a stand-in Ryan "Bimbo" Jay Qui, who is a huge addition to the team due to his experience. Reality Rift, on the other side, remain unchanged.
Neon and Reality Rift met twice in April. Their first meeting ended with a draw (1-1), while Neon picked up a narrow 2-1 win at the Hephaestus Cup at the end of April. Based on their recent results and overall quality of these teams, it's hard to pick out a winner and since their last meetings were extremely close, I expect to see much of the same here. Bet on a draw!
