Esports Betting Tips: Tuesday, June 23rd

June 23rd 2020, 10:29am, By: Michael Lee

Another great night of esports action coming up this Tuesday, the 23rd of June, highlighted by some interesting matchups in the CSGO WePlay series! Check out our best bets for the night below.

Esports Betting Tips: Tuesday, June 23rd

Winstrike vs Nemiga

WePlay! Clutch Island

Winstrike are entering this match with a five-game losing streak. They lost to NaVi Junior, Espada, SKADE, Heroic and Spirit, but to be honest, Winstrike came close to winning a couple of those matches, so they deserve some slack for their 0-5 record. Nemiga, on the other hand, won three out of their last five matches against PACT, forZe and HellRaisers, but lost to Espada and Gambit Youngsters. Clearly, Nemiga are in much better form and their 72% win rate across the past three months compared to Winstrike's 52% win rate only further proves that.

Winstrike and Neimga met only twice in their history. Once at the ESL One: Road to RIO – CIS and later at LOOT.BET Season 6. Their first meeting was very close, but Winstrike managed to come out ahead with 2-1 score. At LOOT.BET, Winstrike produced a much more convincing performance and took down Nemiga 16-10 on Vertigo and 16-5 on Nuke.

As already mentioned, these fixtures between low-rated CIS teams are often a complete coin-toss and I don't see how this one will be any different. Winstrike might possess more experience in their roster with bondik and Hobbit, but considering form is much more valuable than experience in the online format, siding with Nemiga is a much better option here. Value bet on Nemiga!

Ground Zero vs Rooster

ESL Australia & NZ Championship Season 11

Ground Zero are entering this match in shaky form, as they have managed only one win in the last five played against Forbiden. But I have to emphasise that the remaining four losses came against Paradox and Chiefs, who are both much stronger teams. Ground Zero are also attending the ESEA MDL Season 34 Australia, where they won eight out of eleven matches. Their only losses came against Paradox, Chiefs and ORDER.

Rooster, on the other hand, are coming into the match in a much better form. They have lost only one match in the last five against AVANT, while they had no issues defeating low-ranked teams like TRUCKERS WITH ATTITUDE, Downfall, Skyfire and Control. Similarly to Ground Zero, Rooster have also won eight out of 11 matches at the ESEA MDL Season 34 Australia, losing only to Chiefs, ORDER and AVANT.

Rooster and Ground Zero met eight times and most of their meetings ended up very close. Rooster are still the favourites in my eyes since they are in better form, but I would not write off Ground Zero entirely. They should steal at least one map here and keep this fixture close until the end. The best prediction I can give here is to bet on the series to go into the distance, like it did numerous times before. Bet on Over 2.50 Maps!

Spirit vs Espada

WePlay! Clutch Island

Spirit are coming into the match with an impressive 4-1 record from their last five fixtures, their only loss came against the DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 champions BIG, while Spirit had no issues defeating Heroic, HAVU, Virtus.pro and forZe. Espada, on the other side, are holding a 3-2 record from their last five. Their two losses came against PACT and Gambit Youngsters, while they managed to take down HellRaisers, Nemiga and Gambit Youngsters.

Spirit and Espada last met in March at the CIS Minor Closed Qualifier - ESL One Rio 2020, where Spirit won 2-0. The match was very close, as both Nuke and Mirage ended with 16-14 scoreline. I would not put too much emphasis on that result, however, since Spirit have improved since and have shown that they have no problems defeating lower-ranked teams such as Espada.

Considering how strong Spirit have looked in recent weeks, they should not have any difficulties defeating Espada, who are not only in bad form but are also dealing with some internal turmoil. This team is still solid, but they are nothing special and I will be surprised to see them keep it close let alone win a single map against the high-flying Spirit. Bet on Spirit to win 2-0!
