FURIA VS 100 Thieves
DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 – North America
FURIA and 100 Thieves have met just once this year, back in April at the ESL Pro League Season 11 North America, where we saw FURIA come away with a 2-1 win. The Brazilians started the series with a dominant 16-4 win on Mirage, but suffered a similar fate on Vertigo, where 100 Thieves won 16-5.
The series came down to a close match on Nuke, where the Australians took an early 10-5 lead on T-side, only to drop the ball by winning only two maps on CT side, which eventually led to FURIA closing out the series in their favour. Kaike 'KSCERATO' Cerato was on fire that day with 53 frags and a high 1.34 HLTV rating, while Sean 'Gratisfaction' Kaiwai and Justin 'jks' Savage ended the series with 1.03 ratings for 100 Thieves.
FURIA are entering this match priced as favourites, which makes a lot of sense, as they are in a much better form. The Brazilians lost only one BO1 match out of their last five. 100T, on the other side, won only one in the same span of games. They defeated Liquid, but lost to Cloud9, Evil Geniuses (twice), and drew with Triumph. While their record is not very promising, 100T were somewhat unlucky to lose some of their matches, however, it's clear that this team has been struggling with their performances in the online format. Bet on FURIA to continue with their dominant run and once more solidify themselves as a proper top 10 team
EXTREMUM vs Team Unique
Arena of Blood Season 2
In the final Group B fixture at Arena of Blood Season 2, we will see a very exciting clash between Team Unique and the newly rebuilt EXTREMUM, who will duke it out for the final spot leasing into the upper bracket in the playoffs. So far, both teams defeated FlyToMoon 2.0 and lost to Family Team. While EXTREMUM have struggled a bit more to overcome FTM 2.0 (2-1), that result does not tell me much, since EXTREMUM recently rebuilt their roster by adding three new members.
Since EXTREMUM signed Nefrit, mellojul and AfterLife, they have lost only one match. At the start of the week, they took down Family Team (2-0), to which they added a 2-0 win over CYBERIUM.S and most recently lost to B8 (1-2).
Team Unique, on the other side, did not make any changes as of late and to be completely fair, they don't need to make any. This team has been putting up some solid results as of late and while they have lost their most recent match against FlyToMoon (0-2), Unique are still on a 6-1 run in their last seven games. Throughout the last two weeks, they took down Vikin.gg (twice), Gambit Esports, Khan, Winstrike and HellRaisers.
EXTREMUM and Unique met only once back in March when EXTREMUM won 2-0, but a lot has changed since in both rosters. Based on the performances of these two teams, Unique look slightly better, but I don't believe EXTREMUM are to be ignored here, especially at these odds. With their new arrivals, this team is much stronger and considering how well they have played recently, I have to place my money on EXTREMUM.
OG.Seed vs Team Empire Hope
Vulkan Fight Series
While OG's decision to drop OG.Seed surely did not go well with this roster, the motivation to prove themselves and get spotted by another esports organisation is higher than it ever was and what better way to make yourself noticed than winning the whole tournament?
As for OG.Seed's results so far this competition, they defeated Team Heroic, and Team Empire Hope, lost to Family Team and bounced back with a 2-0 win over Nigma in the first round of the playoffs. Team Empire Hope, on the other side, defeated Family Team and Team Heroic, lost to OG.Seed and decimated Khan in round one of the playoffs.
The meeting between OG.Seed and Team Empire Hope in the group stage was very close and it seems very likely this one will play out similarly. OG.Seed are still the main favourites in our book, but given how solid Team Empire Hope have looked like throughout the competition, we can expect another three-map series here.
