Esports Betting Tips: Monday, May 4th

Sprout vs Nordavind

CS:GO LOOT.BET Season 6

Any team that features the German duo of denis and Spiidi is not exactly destined for great things. I still recall these two players from the old mousesports days when they were absolutely terrible and looking at their recent performances (both under the 1.00 HLTV rating), I can say with confidence that they haven’t improved much. Sprout went through a couple of roster changes in the past few months during which they lost all of the firepower they once had and their current roster does not exactly scream firepower, nor does it convince me they're capable of great things. Nordavind are not in a much better spot, as they are also struggling with results and are quite frankly looking even worse than Sprout. They lost against KOVA, Gambit Youngsters, North, Heroic,… Nonetheless, these two teams feel very evenly matched and while Sprout might win today, it won't be without losing a map.

Heretics vs Secret

CS:GO LOOT.BET Season 6

Heretics will be coming into match filled with confidence after their shockingly good performance at the ESL One: Road to Rio – Europe, where they started their campaign with three amazing victories against Dignitas, ENCE and Complexity, but lost 2-1 against fnatic and fell flat 2-0 against Astralis. Nivera and Maka are two standout players on Heretics and look like they are destined for greatness while the rest of the team look like they are at least doing their job. On the other hand, we have the underdogs, Team Secret, who are not as bad as the odds would lead us to believe. It seems like the only reason they're priced as high as they are is due to Heretic's performance at ESL One, which is clearly looking like a big overachievement, especially with all of the matches played online.

Secret already beat Heretics 2-0, albeit it was back in 2019 and without Nivera, but at these odds, they are definitely worth the punt. As for the Over/Under market, it seems like it's very sensitive to the recent surges of form, which leads me to believe the Over 2.50 maps is slightly better bet to take here.

ESEA Open vs Paradox Gaming

CS:GO ESEA MDL Season 34 Australia

ESEA Open looks like the type of team that only plays for fun and seeing how they field players from all over the world (UK, Australia and Vietnam), I wonder on which server they will play on. Furthermore, I have too many questions about the ping, as forcing a non-Australian player to play on AUS server will essentially make them useless. The connectivity issues aside, ESEA Open played only one match so far and since they performed decently well, it seems like they're all based in Australia, but at this point I'm only guessing based on their overall performance.

The cores of these two teams have played a total of two matches against each other, albeit more than one year ago and even though the core of Paradox won both of the meetings, the games were incredibly close, so these high odds on ESEA open don't make much sense. Both teams are assembled from young players, who aspire to go pro and matches like this are usually a complete coin flip and at these odds makes siding with ESEA Open a bet I can't pass on.

Bravos vs DETONA

CS:GO CLUTCH Season 2

Both Bravos and DETONA have been struggling with their form recently, which makes picking out a winner very tough. Looking at the last five matches, Bravos have drawn four of them, which includes stalemates against Isurus, RED Canids, Alma and Keyd, while they lost (2-0) against Soberano. While Bravos' situation is not exactly bright, DETONA are looking even worse. They got swept (0-2) against BIG, Keyd and W7M, but managed to walk away with a draw (1-1) draw against Keyd and Isurus.

As we have come accustomed to, a lot of matches that feature lower-ranked teams from Brazil tend to end in stalemate and I see no reason why that would change today. Although DETONA and Bravos have not met before, the two rosters would know each other well, since they're very familiar with other Brazilian CS:GO players. That essentially means, no team will have any tactical advantage over the other and since Bravos and DETONA field players of similar quality, we should be in for a close match that has a high probability to end in a draw.
