MAD Lions vs Savage

MAD Lions and Savage will meet in the third round of Lower Matches at Elisa Invitational 2022 Spring, marking their first-ever meeting. In the previous round, MAD Lions suffered a devastating (0-2) defeat against Lilmix and have since lost against K23 (1-2) and Run or Die (0-2) and won against FAMBIT (2-0).
MAD Lions have managed only four victories over their last 12 matches, and even those wins came against Wolsgung (2-1), CONQ (2-1), MASONIC (2-0), and FAMBIT (2-0), which are all tier-three teams. Evidently, MAD Lions are in a rough spot, and even though they’re expected to do well against Savage, I doubt that.
I don’t believe Savage are a very good team, and their recent results hardly suggest otherwise. The Swedes are 1-10 across their last 10 with only one win against 4glory Esports. Even more concerning is that Savage lost against 00Prospects in the last round of the Elisa Invitational and couldn’t even make it past the likes of PACT, KOVA, Nexus, and ONYX.
This is a match between two teams that are struggling quite badly, making it very hard to have a preference for either of them. MAD Lions are 1.32 favourites on Picklebet, which might seem OK to some, but this is way too low for a team that is playing as poorly as they have been,
This match can easily go either way, and it wouldn’t be too shocking to see Savage steal the win, but they should be good for at least one map.
Sissi State Punks vs BIG Academy
ESL Meisterschaft Spring 2022
Big Academy might be an academy team, but they’re still considerably better than Sissi State Punks. That might not be as clear if we look at the teams’ group stage record, though, seeing how BIG Academy and Sissis State Punks both ended their respective groups with a 14-6 record.
The teams also seem evenly matched if we compare their record across all competitions, with Sisi State Punks boasting a 7-2 record in their last nine and BIG Academy a 5-3 across their last eight. BIG Academy had to face tougher opponents and also attended Elisa Invitational 2022.
BIG Academy are priced at 1.44 to defeat Sisi State Punks, which sounds like a fair number assuming they play at their best. I have no issue seeing Picklebet pricing BIG Academy as the top dogs, but they likely won’t take this tournament too seriously.
BIG Academy still need to compete in Elisa Invitational, where they’ll play an important game on Wednesday, so they probably won’t prepare for Sissi State Punks. The latter will – unlike BIG – want to win since this is one of the only tournaments they’re competing in.
The individual quality still favours BIG Academy, but Sissi State Punks should be good to keep the series close.

ALTERNATE aTTaX vs cowana
ESL Meisterschaft Spring 2022
ALTERNATE aTTaX and cowana will meet on Monday, April 4, in the first round of ESL Meisterschaft Spring 2022 lower bracket. Cowana qualified for the playoffs as the second seed in Group B with a 15-5 record, while ALTERNATE aTTaX finished Group A in third, with a 10-10 record.
Cowana have achieved more during the group stage, and seem to be in great shape. Of their last nine games, cowana lost only one against Sprout (1-16), who they beat later the same day with 16-7.
ALTERNATE aTTaX have not looked as good in the group stage, but they have done well in their recent outings, picking up six wins from their last nine outings and two draws – against Entropy and PartyDaddlers.
But despite cowana’s better form, there isn’t a lot to separate these two teams. ALTERNATE aTTaX defeated cowana twice (16-1, 16-13) in their last meeting, but it happened in April 2021, so those results don’t mean much.
As two teams that are equal talent-wise and field players who know each other very well, this could be a very close match with no clear winner, as it’s usually the case with these regional derbies. Expect a messy affair that will extend to three maps!
