EPL 2025-26: Matchday 11 Preview & Betting Tips
Tottenham vs Manchester United
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Saturday 8th November, 11:30pm AEDT
Tottenham will be looking to work their way back into the top four when they take on Manchester United in the opening game of Matchday 11. A 1-0 defeat at home against Chelsea sees Spurs in sixth place, however they are only two points adrift from second place. Manchester United’s three game winning streak came to an end in a frustrating 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest, a stark reminder that United still have plenty of work to do in bridging the gap between themselves and the best teams in the league.
Tottenham’s improvement this season has come from their defence, with Spurs ranking as the equal second best defence in the league. Tottenham have conceded just eight goals in ten games, and have recorded 4 clean sheets, equal third most in the Premier League. Spurs ability to defend has come on the back of their work in midfield, with Tottenham ranking 6th for possession (53.7%), which has allowed their back 4 get set consistently.
Manchester United will be relying on counter attacking opportunities to score, however against a side like Tottenham there won’t be many attacking opportunities from that method. Although the Red Devils are in a nice run of form, Manchester United have a 2-0-2 record against the current top six teams in the Premier League. United are going to struggle on the road against a quality Spurs side, who will strangle Ruben Amorim’s side defensively.

Sunderland vs Arsenal
Stadium of Light, Sunday 9th November, 4:30am AEDT
Despite being held to a 1-1 draw against Everton last week, Sunderland are still in the top four and host league leaders Arsenal in a massive clash on Sunday morning. The Gunners have jumped six points clear of second placed Manchester City, however a loss to the Black Cats would bring the chasing pack much closer. Arsenal have won five straight games and are unbeaten in their last eight Premier League fixtures, with their only defeat this season coming against Liverpool.
As expected when you are two games clear at the top of the table, Arsenal have a remarkably balanced statistical profile. The Gunners are the best defensive outfit in the league (3 goals conceded), the second highest scoring team (18 goals scored) and ranked third for possession (57.9%). To be ranked in the top three for the three major categories is a major tick for Arsenal’s title aspirations, and they know that a win this weekend will be crucial for their title hopes.
Despite being in the top four, Sunderland haven’t been a great side in the front third, ranking 12th in the Premier League for goals. They’ve relied on their defence to win them games, which has worked a lot this season, however teams that lack balance and don’t have multiple ways to win, often get found out against the best teams in the league. If the Gunners score early it’s going to be tough work for Sunderland, and they look set for a reality check from the league leaders.

Manchester City vs Liverpool
Etihad Stadium, Monday 10th November, 3:30am AEDT
It’s only Matchday 11 but this matchup between Manchester City and Liverpool looms as a season defining clash for both clubs. City and Liverpool have combined for the last eight Premier League titles, however Arsenal are pulling away at the top of the table, and the loser of this match could find themselves 9 or 10 points away from the league leaders. Liverpool finally put an end to their four game losing streak, getting a much needed win over Aston Villa on Matchday 11.
Manchester City also got back on the winners list with a win last week, however Pep Guardiola’s side are in a much better run of form, having won four of their last five games. City’s resurgence has been largely built on the back of Erling Haaland’s return to form, with the Norwegian sitting first in the Golden Boot race. Haaland has scored 13 goals, seven more than the next best and has scored in eight of his ten games so far this season. With Haaland in this sort of form, Manchester City are certainly capable of challenging for the title.
Despite getting a win over Aston Villa, there are still plenty of concerns around Liverpool’s defence, which had conceded nine goals in four games prior to last week. Things only get more difficult for the reds, who come up against the most prolific attacking team in the the league, with 20 goals in 10 games. Manchester City will continue their strong form against a vulnerable Liverpool defence, to keep their title hopes alive.
