Dolphins vs Roosters Predictions & Tips: NRL Round 15 2026
A statement victory
Traveling north to Townsville, the Dolphins of the previous seasons would’ve left empty handed as they let key chances slip away. The 2026 version of the team didn’t make such errors though as they ground out a strong 40-14 victory. The result suggests dominance but after leading 16-10 at HT, they were made to work hard for the victory. They were dominant in most area too; with 55% possession they completed at 83%, averaged 10m per carry, had 711 PCM’s, made 7 line breaks, and missed just 18 tackles. They are a team finding form at the right time with a talented group of players driving a high standard of execution.
Making their own statement
If the Dolphins made a statement with their performance, the Roosters matched them a day earlier with a dominant 26-0 road victory over the Raiders. Easily forgiven for playing to their opponent’s level in testing conditions, the Roosters were at their dominant best, sending a message to the rest of the competition with such a victory. The game was all but over at HT as they lead 22-0, and in the end, their execution (51% possession and 80% completion rate) allowed them to control the contest. They dominated attack averaging 10.1m per carry and making 721 PCM’s which led to 6 line breaks. Their defence was strong too; despite missing 30 tackles they allowed just 1 line break. With their representative stars, such a performance could be tough to replicate.
Stats that matter
- The Roosters have won the past 4 games against the Dolphins. Still, they have just a 50% record at this ground compared to the Dolphins 54%.
- In the past 5 matches, the average margin of victory is 18.8 points. 3 games have been decided by 10 points or less but a 52-point victory to the Roosters last year sways the statistic. The average points in the past 5 games is 60.4 points, with the past 3 games totalling more than 60+ points.
- The Dolphins have a superior attacking record, averaging 27ppg which is slightly ahead of the Roosters 26ppg. The Roosters are balance this out defensively though, averaging 20ppg in defence compared to the Dolphins 21ppg.
The greatest depth wins
Both teams have suffered similar omissions ahead of this contest. Neither will carry their first-choice fullback into the contest; doubt also remains around Katoa’s inclusion as it depends on the fitness of Moses, and the Blues will be reluctant to release him if there is any doubt in their minds. The Roosters are without three key spine players in Walker, Robson, and Tedesco. That will impact their attack; regardless of the quality of replacements they have at their disposal, it will limit their effectiveness with the ball. The consistency on the field remains with the home team. The Dolphins have confidence in this area of their game and most importantly, it is translating to their defence. The Roosters proved capable in this area last week, but the Raiders failed to trouble them in the way the Dolphins will. Their pressure through the middle will open opportunities on the edges that were not challenged last week. Invest sparingly on this game though, with the Dolphin capable of winning by more than a converted try to cover the line.

Dolphins vs Roosters Same Game Multi
Leg 1 = Total points over 50.5 – see above for justification.
Leg 2 = B.Smith to score – back on the edge for the Roosters, Smith is slowly returning to his best with 2 tries from his past 4 NRL matches. He loves playing the Dolphins also, with 2 tries from his past 3 games against them.
Leg 3 = Farnworth to score – Herbie is the Dolphins strike attacking weapon on the edge and he will want to take the game to the opponents. He also recorded a try in his last game at this venue.
