Just the two games on Super Saturday in NRL Round 14, and this matchup between two Queensland teams will close out the Saturday evening festivities. The Broncos are in dire straits and a win here is crucial if they are to keep their slim top 4 hopes alive, as they take on a Gold Coast Titans team that looks every bit the wooden spoon favourites. A big opportunity then, can the Broncos take it?

Broncos vs Titans Prediction & Tips: 2025 NRL Round 14
Madge Under Serious Pressure at Box Hill
The Broncos come into this round 14 clash off the back of four straight losses, with some of those losses quite embarrassing. Last week, they took on the Sea Eagles at 4 Pines Park, with the home side without superstar fullback Tom Trbojevic. The Broncos were admittedly without their fullback Reece Walsh, but otherwise were close to full strength, and it was a horrible showing in a big game, with the Sea Eagles dismantling the Broncos 34-6. It's panic stations now for a team that was heavily favoured to make the top 4 heading into the season, and Head Coach Michael Maguire must surely be feeling the pressure in the coach’s box. Can he fix this problem before Broncos’ power brokers start looking elsewhere? He gets a great chance this week.
The Lack of Talent is Proving Too Much for the Titans
The Titans currently occupy 17th and last on the ladder, and as the only team with three wins this season, find themselves in a tough spot here. Losers of two straight, last week saw the Titans go down at home to the Storm, 28-16. The Titans have struggled to name the same spine in consecutive games this season, and so it proved once again last week, as they made several late changes. One positive was Jayden Campbell shifting to fullback, as the livewire had a terrific game against the best team in the comp, running for 164 metres, scoring a try and setting up two others. Whilst they continue to get solid play out of several other starters, the Titans seem to lack the overall talent of most other clubs, and this week is no different.
Broncos vs Titans Recent History
Despite a tough long-term record against Big Brother, the Titans do have a solid recent record against the Broncos, winning the last three matchups with them. Last season, the Titans managed to win both games, winning 36-34 at Suncorp Stadium in round 12, after the Broncos closed massive 16.5-point home favourites, with a total of 50.5. The Broncos were their own worst enemies, making 14 errors and completing at only 70%. They met again 10 weeks later, with the Broncos this time closing 5.5-point road favourites, with a massive total of 54.5. This time, it was all Gold Coast, as the home side ran in seven unanswered second half tries, after trailing 18-10 at halftime, to win 46-18.
The Return of Reece Lightning
For this clash, the Broncos opened 10.5-point home favourites on the lookahead line last week, before re-opening at 9.5. Broncos money has hit the market, as they have pushed back to double digits as 10.5-point favourites. It’s hard to back the Titans here unless you think they can beat the Broncos outright, given the fact they haven’t lost a game by less than 10 points all season. At the same time, the Broncos are making it exceedingly difficult to back them in any circumstance, however with the return of Reece Walsh from injury, I’m going to back the Broncos in here to get the job done. My power rating for the Broncos pre-Walsh injury was five points better than last week, and if you take that into account, I make the Broncos 16-point favourites for this matchup. Obviously, Walsh may be a little rusty, but the return of their enigmatic fullback should be enough to get this sleeping giant back to form.
Looking towards the total, and it opened 51.5 and has stayed there throughout the week. I make a fair total 53, and as such I don’t see a great deal of value here. The over would be the play, however I prefer to back the Broncos in this spot with the emotional return of Reece Walsh.

Broncos vs Titans Player Prop Bet: Walsh to Return with a Bang
Our Best Player Prop: Reece Walsh 1+ Try
Yes, Reece Walsh is back for the Broncos, and I’m all in. With three tries in four games against the Titans (including a double last season), I expect Walsh to light up Suncorp Stadium on his return to the big time. With the lights a little dimmer on a Saturday evening against the bottom of the table Titans, Walsh won’t have too much pressure on him here. Back him in.

Broncos vs Titans Same Game Multi
Leg 1: Broncos (13+) – As above, this could get very ugly for the Titans with the Broncos desperate, and Walsh returning.
Leg 2: R Walsh (1+ try) – I love the return of Walsh here, and he may well tear the Titans to shreds.
Leg 3: J Campbell (1+ try) – Remains a bright spot on this team. It doesn’t matter where Des Hasler plays Campbell, he is just a real footballer and can get the job done from anywhere. Love his chance at another meat pie in this clash.
