LIV Golf Hong Kong Betting Tips
Hong Kong Golf Club, Thursday 6th - Sunday 8th
Top Picks
Tyrrell Hatton ($13)
Hatton continues to look like one of the most complete players on the LIV roster and arrives in Hong Kong in strong form. His precision iron play and fiery competitive edge are perfectly suited to Fanling’s tight, strategic layout where accuracy matters far more than brute power. Hatton thrives on courses that demand creativity and control, and his ability to generate birdie streaks while avoiding big mistakes makes him an ideal fit for this venue. With momentum building early in the season, this feels like an excellent opportunity for Hatton to capture his first LIV victory of the year.
Joaquin Niemann ($15)
Few players on LIV Golf strike the ball as purely as Niemann, and Hong Kong Golf Club rewards exactly that skill set. The Chilean’s ability to control trajectory and attack small greens should translate beautifully on this shorter par 70 layout. Niemann has already proven he can contend consistently in LIV events and arrives once again among the favorites. If he gets comfortable on the greens early, his aggressive scoring ability could quickly separate him from the field.
Value Picks
Thomas Detry ($36)
Smylie shapes as the ultimate home crowd wildcard. After a confidence boosting start to the season in Riyadh, he now gets the full Adelaide treatment in front of a partisan Australian crowd. He feeds off energy, and there is no louder venue on the LIV calendar. If he handles the Watering Hole cleanly and stays patient elsewhere, he has the game and temperament to hang around deep into the weekend.
Dean Burmester ($29)
Herbert feels tailor made for LIV Golf Adelaide. Creative shot making, fearless putting and total comfort in front of big crowds are all part of his DNA. He knows The Grange well, understands how to navigate windy Australian conditions, and has the short game to save momentum when things get messy. If he finds early confidence with the flat stick, Herbert is a genuine smoky to make a serious run.
The Field
The early LIV Golf season has already delivered drama, with two first-time winners emerging from the opening events. Elvis Smylie captured the opener in Riyadh before Anthony Kim completed a remarkable comeback story with victory in Adelaide. Those results mean 26 different players have now claimed individual LIV titles, highlighting just how competitive the league has become.
Jon Rahm continues to loom large despite narrowly missing out on victory in both tournaments this season. The Legion XIII captain has finished runner-up in each of the first two events and has now been second in four consecutive LIV regular-season tournaments. Rahm’s consistency keeps him firmly among the favorites every time the league tees it up.
Team storylines are also front and center. Cameron Smith’s all-Australian Ripper GC arrive in Hong Kong after a dominant victory in Adelaide, making them the first team in LIV history to win the opening two events of a season. Meanwhile, Sergio Garcia returns as the defending individual champion in Hong Kong while his Fireballs GC also return as the defending team winners.
The Course
Hong Kong Golf Club at Fanling is one of the most historic venues in Asian golf. Established in 1889, it has hosted the Hong Kong Open for more than six decades and remains one of the region’s most respected championship layouts. The course is a par 70 measuring just 6,711 yards, but its narrow corridors and strategic design demand precision from tee to green.
While short by modern standards, the layout provides numerous scoring opportunities. The par five 13th has historically been the easiest hole on the course, averaging well under par, while the third hole also offers birdie chances for players willing to attack. Those holes will be critical scoring opportunities throughout the week.
Not every hole is forgiving, however. The long par four ninth has been the toughest test at Fanling, and the tricky closing stretch requires both accuracy and nerve. With small greens, strategic doglegs and potential for very low scores, Hong Kong Golf Club promises another entertaining test for the LIV field.
