Another strong performance on Tuesday in NBA Betting Tips as we hit on 2/3 bets. Since the All-Star break, our NBA record now sits at 7/9 and we'll be looking for another three winners this Thursday, the 27th of February as we preview some of the key games of the nine game slate below!
NBA Betting Tips Thursday 27th February
Philadelphia 76ers at Cleveland Cavaliers
Quicken Loans Arena, 11am AEDT
The 76ers will be without Ben Simmons for the foreseeable future after the star point guard injured his back last week. Throughout the season so far, however, it has become apparent that Simmons and star centre Joel Embiid play better when the opposite is out. Embiid went off for 49 points and 14 rebounds in a massive win against the Hawks on Tuesday as the 76ers began life without Simmons.
The Cavs have been solid since acquiring the services of Andre Drummond from the Pistons. In that five game stretch, they have won three of their games and they will be on the back of a fantastic home win against the Heat on Tuesday. Otto Porter Jr. was fantastic in the win, dropping 30 points while Kevin Love seems to have some new found life in a Cavs uniform, dropping 17 and 14 rebounds in the win.
Like the look of the 76ers here. They have shown that they are a better team when one of Simmons or Embiid is out of the line-up this season. They start as 7.5 point favourites on the road but with a full days break and a clean bill of health outside of Simmons, they cover that easily. They have won their last two against Cleveland by an average of 33 points.
Memphis Grizzlies at Houston Rockets
Toyota Center, 12pm AEDT
The Rockets have been absolutely balling since the All-Star break and since their massive trade at the deadline. They have won their last three games over the Warriors, Jazz and Knicks by an average margin of 17 points. Over his last six games, star shooting guard James Harden is averaging 34.3 points and 8 assists per game and the since the trade for Robert Covington, the Rockets are 5-2.
The Grizzlies were absolutely pumped by the Clippers on Tuesday. They were outscored 40-14 in the first quarter and lost the game by 27 points as no one scored over 16 points for the Grizzlies. They’ll be desperate to bounce back against the Rockets and hold their spot inside the top eight in the Western Conference.
Can’t get enough of the Rockets here. Their main downfall is when the opponent has a dominant big that can take advantage of their small line-up. The Grizzlies do not possess that big man. Rockets should be far too strong here and should rack up a comfortable double digit win.
Los Angeles Clippers at Phoenix Suns
Talking Stick Resort, 1pm AEDT
The Suns are coming off a fantastic win against the Jazz on the road on Tuesday. They downed the Jazz by 20 points in Utah as Devin Booker racked up 24 points and 10 assists. The Suns have now won their last two games in a row and sit in 12th place in the Western Conference, just four games behind the Grizzlies in eighth place.
The Clippers were big winners over the Grizzlies at home on Tuesday but will be on the road on Thursday, where they have really struggled so far this season. The Clippers have a conference best 23-6 record at home, but on the road they are just 15-13 and have lost their last two games on the road to the 76ers and Celtics.
The Clippers start as 6.5 point favourites here but we like the Suns at home. They have a fairly clean bill of health and Devin Booker is balling at the moment. The Suns might not win but we expect this to be a pretty close game, back them to cover the large spread.
