AFL Round 24 Preview & Betting Tips
West Coast vs Adelaide

There have been quite a few surprises in the 2023 AFL season, but perhaps none more surprising than West Coast beating the Western Bulldogs last weekend. The Bulldogs are in the midst of a finals push and the Eagles had a hold of the upcoming #1 pick, yet it was the now 17th placed Eagles who came out on top.
Perhaps the most alarming part of the Eagles horrible season is they haven’t unveiled many young guns. Reuben Ginbey looks as though he will have a long career in the system, but there haven’t been too many others to get excited about other than possibly mid-season pick-up Ryan Maric and lively small forward Noah Long. Needless to say, the 2023 draft will be a pivotal one for this proud club.
Adelaide had their finals hopes dashed in Round 23 due to an embarrassing mistake by a goal umpire and a stuff up by the AFL Review System. They were simply robbed of the four points against the Swans and must now lick their wounds, lace their boots, and try and finish the season on a positive note.
Although September action is now beyond them, the Crows made some great sides this campaign and will be one of the teams to watch heading into 2024. They have a number of young guns coming through and still have some veterans playing fantastic footy (e.g. Taylor Walker who sits second in the Coleman Medal race).
Match prediction: Both teams have nothing to play for and that naturally results in a match with less defensive intensity compared to the norm. Furthermore, the Crows are ranked #2 for points scored this season and the Eagles are ranked #1 for points conceded, and the last time these teams met saw a total of 226 points scored. Expect another shootout on Saturday night.

Taylor Walker 4+ Goals – The big Texan has been in career-best form this season and jagged 10 against the Eagles last time. He could be in for another big one.
Matt Crouch 25+ Disposals – Has been terrific since returning to the seniors. He’ll want to finish strong to ensure his value remains high heading into the offseason.
