Warwick Farm hosts a seven-race card on Wednesday as the meeting kicks off at 2:20pm with a $100,000 super maiden. Another maiden quickly follows suit before five Benchmark 72 Handicaps are run, as the best horses from these races look to progress to Saturday grade.
The rail is out five metres from the 1000m to the winning post, and three metres for the remainder of the circuit. Track is currently rated Good and temperatures will be in the low 30s on race day with sunny skies.

Warwick Farm Racing Tips: Wednesday, January 7th 2026
Race 1: Vinnie @ Yarraman Park Handicap 1400m – 2:20pm (AEDT)
(5) Erin Jo has copped wide gates in her first two career starts but now comes up with barrier one which should see her settle much closer to the action with Chad Schofield in the saddle. Her debut third was a good effort and then she finished seventh of 14 at Randwick on Boxing Day. This looks more suitable and should go very close.
(2) Our Huntress is knocking on the door and this may well be the race where she knocks it down at start number four. She has been placed in all three starts, gets the services of James McDonald and gate two. Talk about ticking a ton of boxes! Due to the price difference, was happy siding with Erin Jo but huge respect for Our Huntress who could be the leader.
(3) Miss Lola comes out of the same maiden as Our Huntress – they finished close together. Miss Lola draws wider this time around which makes it a bit more difficult.
(5) Erin Jo WIN
$4.20 (1.5 Units)
Race 4: Spelling at Coolmore Mt White Handicap 1000m – 4:05pm (AEDT)
(1) Straand Beauty is prepared by John O’Shea and Tom Charlton. The four-year-old gelding resumed with a fourth-placed effort at Randwick after sitting outside Da Snoop Dog and wilting slightly in the last 50m. Just needs to go a bit slower here and he should be hardest to beat. Like the jockey change also with Jace McMurray making way for the experienced superstar James McDonald. Looks the best bet on the card.
(4) Runranirun is the logical danger in the race after the four-year-old mare has put together a pair of victories for trainer Matthew Smith. She draws inside Straand Beauty and might provide the perfect bunny for our top selection to chase in the home straight. The daughter of Press Statement will make this a great spectacle to watch.
(7) Sneaky Sofia was last seen finishing eighth in a Midway Handicap (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens in July. The four-year-old mare has won three from six when fresh, so is expected to be pretty forward after two barrier trials. Likes to race on the speed but speed underneath may see Anna Roper try to slot in somewhere. Each-way claims.
(1) Straand Beauty WIN
$2.20 (3 Units)
Race 5: Asahi Super Dry Handicap 1600m – 4:40pm (AEDT)
(5) Ivan’s Hero is one of two Chris Waller-trained runners in the race and he has drawn well in gate three with Kerrin McEvoy continuing his association with the six-year-old gelding. He has won two of his past three starts and should find a forward position in the race. This is harder than last time, which is why Ivan’s Hero is double figures – too good a price to pass up on though, especially on an each-way basis.
(4) Man Of Worth is favourite for the event and the other Waller runner. He is going to enjoy a lovely run from gate two and he was super impressive breaking his maiden by 4.24 lengths. The mile looked ideal for the son of Sea The Stars and he will take some beating in this contest.
(10) Lugarno is third up from a spell following a third at Wyong and then a subsequent sixth at Randwick over the mile. Drawing closer to the fence looks perfect and the John Thompson-trained gelding can race on the speed or potentially set the pace.
(5) Ivan’s Hero E/W
$12/$3.20 (1U/1.5U)
