Midweek racing returns to Warwick Farm this week with a seven-race card. No feature races are pencilled in for this card, but we will see four BM72 races, a BM64 and 2 Maidens. The first is set to jump at 2:00pm AEDT and the last at 5:45pm AEDT. The current conditions are set for a GOOD track. Watch and monitor. All selections made at 8:30am AEDT 19th of December 2023.

Warwick Farm Racing Tips: Wednesday, December 20th 2023
Race 4: Ranvet 1100m BM72 at 3:50pm AEDT
(1) OXFORD VISION ($9/2.70) – 5YO gelding who is looking to make it three on the trot. He has won both of his last races over this trip and boasts a nice record over 1100m with 3 wins and 3 seconds from 6 attempts. I concede he will have to carry an extra 2.5kg from last start. Expect him to get a nice sit from gate 6 and can still figure at a nice price here.
(7) GLOBAL EMPIRE ($5.00) – 4YO who hasn’t been far away at all career runs and hit the line well first up with top weight. Gets up in grade now, but 3.5kg off his back. Fitter second up and can play a role.

Race 6: Bivouac First Yearlings 1100m BM72 at 5:05pm AEDT
(9) SHAKEN ($2.15) – 3YO filly who was dominant in her maiden win before taking on open class and finishing 3rd. Has had two winning trials since and looks to be a smart type. SCHILLER jumps on for the first time, but she looks a bit too speedy for the others here and will be the one to beat.

Race 7: Exceedance’s First Yearlings 1300m BM72 at 5:45pm AEDT
(8) VINNIES SPIRIT ($11/$3.20) – 4YO gelding who has been racing well this prep with two seconds. Jumped at $2.80 last start and only found one better. Gets 1.5kg off that run now and will only be fitter third up. I think the market has his price wrong here and well over the odds. Draws well and expect him to be on pace and take catching late. Over the odds here.
(2) COOL JAKEY ($5.00) – 4YO who was okay first up over this grade/trip first up, but looked as if he needed the run and lacked fitness. He is proven second up and has had early market support here. Draws a nice gate and will be able to dictate the race from the front if he jumps well. Worth thought and watch the market.
