Warrnambool Racing Tips - Wednesday, February 1st 2023

Race 4

(3) Zippity Zoustar for Jamie Edwards at Geelong ran a good 2nd at Hamilton last start after leading most of the way and if he leads again, he should be in the top couple. They tried to ride him back last prep but things just weren't working out for the Zoustar gelding who was getting too far back in slowly run races. First up at Warrnambool they rode him back again but despite making up many lengths late he ran 6th from 11. A change of tactics almost paid off last start and i expect the stable to try it out again.

(4) Albanian Boy was better at Ladbrokes Park Hillside last start and has shown he can settle up on speed or back of midfield.

(7) Sir Cuthbert is a local who ran 2nd at Burrumbeet but this is harder.

(8) Glass Mountain was poor before his spell (last) but has jumped out okay since and the stable is going well.

(3) Zippity Zoustar WIN

$2.70 (2 Units)

Race 5

(4) Feuermond is a local from the Lindsay Smith yard and the Sea the Moon gelding does have solid first up from having finished in the top 2 on all three occasions. He ran a good 2nd in a recent Hamilton jumpout and last prep he was only beaten a nose at Ladbrokes Park Hillside when first up.

(2) Hearts and Minds is third up from a spell and he goes well third up for the Patrick Payne team. He has placed 3 of 4 on the Good and is a lot fitter than some of the others.

(5) Golden Vitrine has a wide barrier in 11 but is sure to attract support being from the Maher & Eustace stable who usually snare a winner when they come this way.

(6) Remix has drawn well and he did run a good 2nd at Wangaratta first up. Forget last starts run when he had no luck.

(4) Feuermond WIN

$5.50 (1 Unit)

Race 6

(4) Venting has drawn well in one and almost got the money here last week when 2nd beaten less than a length. On that occasion Jack Hill got him to lead and he raced very well before being collared late. He has won on a Good track before and Hill takes the ride again.

(6) Sunday Buzz is a local from the Simon Wilde team who ran a good 2nd at Geelong last start.  He also led so it may be a battle on who can get the lead early here.

(7) Jugan has drawn wide in 11 but did win here last start. That effort was on a Good track here last week but the time will need to be improved by a second or two to win this.

(8) Fiji has been racing the country tracks of late but Aaron Purcell (trainer) is a local who knows how to show up at Warrnambool.

(4) Venting WIN

$3.80 (2 Units)

Race 7

5) Mrs Chrissie is first up from a spell but has won first up before. On January 16 she was very good winning a Cranbourne jumpout and the Per Canto/ Turf Fire mare has won her only start on a Good surface. It's her first start for the Maher&Eustace team and she is sure to attract a lot of support. She had two runs in town last prep and she definitely wasn't disgraced running a 4nd at Caulfield, beaten only half a length.

(4) Stabler got caught wide last start but the start prior he won well at Bendigo. He has drawn inside and if he saves ground he could show up at odds.

(8) Prophet’s Choice was third at Flemington last start in a harder race than this. Has claims.

(2) Tori’s Dee can make it two on end for the Edwards stable if she settles handy again. He really needs to be on pace. Edwards does go well at the Bool!

(5) Mrs Chrissie WIN

$2.10 (3 Units)
