Day 3: Warrnambool Racing Tips: Thursday, May 1st 2025
Race 3: Tab We’re On BM78 – 1100m – 12:15pm (AEST)
(2) Cleo Cat $2.30: 4YO Mare who boasts an outstanding record with 5 wins from all 6 career starts. Resumes today and has had a handy jumpout out to lead it. Draws a nice gate and rates nicely. Untested on the wet track the only query, but outside of that she looks to be the one to beat.
(3) Just For Show $8.00/$3.40: Resuming 3YO Gelding who also has a nice resume. He has jumped out twice leading into this and goes well fresh. Prefer him over slightly further, but expect him to play a role still. Draws pole position, so gets the chance to dictate. Unsure on the early drift though.
(6) Mansiere $4.80: 4YO Gelding who is also first up here and generally gets around the mark when fresh. Enjoys the wet track which goes in his favour here and draws a nice alley. Market support suggests he will be finishing off well here.
(2) Cleo Cat
$2.30 (3.5 Units)
Race 6: Evergreen Turf Neville Wilson Series Final BM70 - 1700m - 1:50pm (AEST)
(1) Flossing $10/$3.00: 7YO Gelding who was far from disgraced when resuming at Bendigo last start. He rocks a terrific second up record and relishes the wet track which sets him up perfectly here. He rates well with Prebble claiming 1.5kg along with a handy draw. Looks a terrific value play.
(3) Notabadbuy $3.80: 6YO Gelding who ran well over 1600m last start in this grade lugging the same weight and was only run down late by another good one. (Gaps to third). Gets wetter conditions this time and if he snag a spot up on the speed from the barrier he will be hard to run down again.
(4) El James $3.20: 4YO Gelding who is yet to miss the drum in all career starts. First up run was sound and will only be fitter off that effort. Will have plenty of admirers, but will need to overcome the wide barrier.
(1) Flossing E/W
$10/$3.00 (1U/2U)
Race 7: Brandt Grand Annual Steeplechase - 5500m – 2:30pm (AEST)
(2) Count Zero $6.00/$2.05: 10YO Gelding who won this race last year, so off that in itself has to be considered. Talented jumper and has a solid tank. Third up for this and loves the weather effected tracks. Watch the market.
(4) Insitgator $6.50/$2.20: 11YO Gelding who we had as a top 3 selection in the Brierly on Day 1 and he was probably one of the standout runs where he came from absolutely no where to finish third and only 4L off the winner. He looks as though he will realise this trip off that effort and seemed to handle the wet superbly. Hopefully he didn’t use up his best work too early though. Each way.
(5) Duke Of Bedford $3.30: The Brierly winner who was gritty and looked to just keep on finding which is what you look for in this big staying races. He is untried over this trip, but deserves to be favourite off that big win. Top jockey in Arron Lynch gets on for this too which boosts confidence.
