Warriors vs Raiders Predictions & Tips: NRL Round 2 2026
Back to basics
The Warriors produced a terrific performance last week to upset the Roosters 42-18 at home. Expected to struggle with several key players missing, the Warriors jumped to a strong 22-6 lead in the first half. A fightback from their opponents forced them to regain control and eventually, they put the result beyond doubt. It was a measured performance which saw them have 56% possession, completed at 81%, and average 8.8m per carry. So good was their performance, it covered the fact that they missed 47 tackles, an area they must still improve upon. They’re not the finished product and should get better, but that effort was positive for their chances moving forward.
Getting it done, but not in the right manner
The 29-28 road victory over the Sea Eagles reads well for the Raiders and the manner of the Golden Point victory increases its significance; however, it must be put into perspective. They conceded a 14-point deficit inside the first 20 minutes, gave up a 14-point lead with 7 minutes remaining, and made simple mistakes they must eradicate from their game. They missed 36 tackles and made 10 errors, while having an equal share of possession and completing at 80%. Perhaps it can be attributed the challenging conditions or the opening match of the season, but the Raiders must be better if they’re to repeat their performance from 2025.
Stats that matter
- The home team has won 4 of the past 5 matches between these two sides.
- Low scoring games are the norm, with the average total points sitting at 34.2 points in the past 5 matches. The average margin of victory in that same period is also low at 7.8 points, with 4 games decided by 8 points or less.
- The Warriors have a strong record at home, winning 57% of games here. The Raiders struggle, with just 7 wins from 20 attempts (35%).
Too close to call
This game is an intriguing contest with many possible factors impacting the result at the end of 80 minutes. The Warriors were strong last week. Their persistence in defence and poise in attack created the perfect catalyst to produce points. The Raiders were guilty of switching off and as they prepare to face another tough road trip, will have to cover the loss of Papali’i up front. This points towards the Warriors having an edge but you cannot overlook the fact that the home side is still missing key players. While their team from last week remains the same, they’re missing the quality which could provide a difference. There is a lot left to be desired from the Raiders also; their inconsistency hurt their momentum. If the Warriors produce the same level of execution as last week, they will make the visitors pay for their mistakes. This leaves it to an easy decision, and the recent history supports it. Invest on this game being a close game, perhaps even coming down to the final few players before a winner is decided.

Leg 1 = Total points under 46.5 – see above for the statistics of low-scoring matches between these two sides.
Leg 2 = Tuivasa-Sheck to score – He has scored a try in each of his past 5 matches against the Raiders and his form last week suggest he is again a good chance to cross the line.
Leg 3 = Strange to score – a noted try scorer, he has 6 tries from his past 5 matches. Despite being kept quiet last week, Strange will undoubtedly be in for a big match as he attempts to lead his team to victory.
