Sha Tin AWT hosts tonight’s Wednesday night meeting under lights in Hong Kong. Some quality races on the card and as always anticipate a strong leader bias on this type of racing surface. There are a few on the card who should take advantage of that pattern and be hard to beat here.

Sha Tin Racing Tips: Wednesday January 24th
Race 3: Peacock Hcp (C4) - 1650m (22:15 AEST)
(1) Viva Hunter gets a great chance to improve drastically here down in grade. He hasn’t raced in this grade for a few seasons now and has lacked a good draw and race shape lately to go close. He’s drawn 6 tonight and can lead in a race that lacks real pace influences.
(4) Mission Bravo won sitting outside the leader a few starts back and could definitely do the same again with the right race shape. He’s also not a bad price.
(3) Lucky Banner is the easy pick but is very short. He was 2nd to Mission Bravo previously and looks very close to breaking through for a win. Well-drawn with Bowman on.

Race 6: Kestrel Hcp (C4) - 1200m (23:45 AEST)
(6) Diamond Flare missed the start last time and can atone here for a poor performance by jumping well and leading as he did the start prior. Mighty hard to beat if he leads like that again.
(3) Top Top Tea had minimal room to finish off last start on turf. We’re yet to see him on this surface but no reason he can’t run well.
(4) Judy’s Great won 2 back and was just fair last start. Difficult to trust but clearly has some ability.
(6) Diamond Flare win

Race 7: Flamingo Hcp (C3) - 1200m (00:15 AEST)
(3) Magniac returns here under Zac Purton. Has trialled nicely and can win fresh from the lead in this race. Keen.
(2) Capital Delight can run well again after winning from back in the field last start. Tough racing pattern to bring to the dirt tracks but he did it last time.
(4) Fiery Diamond isn’t out of this. He’s a huge price and worth something e/w as he could end up in a forward position and stick on until late in the race.
