Sha Tin today sees the most blackbooked runners going around for me in quite some time. It’ll be interesting to see how they perform given each looks very close to a breakthrough after recent performances. Here are my top 3!
Sha Tin Racing Tips: Sunday May 21st
Race 1
(4) Sunlight Power isn’t far off a win at all. His debut was solid behind Golden Samurai and with any improvement here he should be winning from a neutral gate.
(3) Horseain Bolt is not much of a winner but is usually around the mark. Drawn ok for Derek Leung so could be one for minors.
(1) Speedy Smartie is drawn wide but under Zac Purton shouldn’t be too far away in the concluding stages of the race.
(4) Sunlight Power win

Race 8
(8) Ready To Win was enormous running 2nd last start and is capable of improving on that in this race from a slightly better draw. The top few in the market are solid horses but too short for mine and this horse presents as nice value.
(6) Prince of Porty has barely put a foot wrong so far in his career. Gate 11 may pose a few difficulties today but if Zac Purton can navigate that wide draw this horse is a top hope.
(11) Lucky Encounter is a similar story having won and run 2nd in 2 career starts. Looks unlikely that he finishes far off the winner especially from gate 6.

Race 10
(3) Beauty Inspire with Zac Purton aboard is due for a win. Was only just nosed out by Beauty Champ last time and in a similar grade of race here should be incredibly hard to beat.
(1) Mighty Stride is a brut of a horse and quite capable of blowing away his opposition on a good day. He showed his best in his first few runs so needs to find some of that form again.
(7) Hameron ran an enormous race on local debut after arriving from Australia. He was big odds there but demonstrated his quick acclimatisation in the new environment. With that in mind he should be right in this race 2nd up.
