Race 5: Ninepin Group Hcp C4 – 1400m (23:15 AEST)
(12) Trust Me is well placed here after closing off well last start over this trip. He’s drawn middle of the track which I suspect will be suitable here after recent racing on the surface in wet conditions. Nice e/w price for a horse who hasn’t been far away without much luck.
(3) Simple Hedge does look hard to beat here on paper. He’s the up and coming talent and was unlucky not to finish closer to the winner when 2nd last time. If he begins better than last time he’s the most likely winner.
(6) June Planet is consistently let down by his racing pattern which will be the case again tonight. He needs plenty of speed on and conditions to suit to win one but that doesn’t look as though it will eventuate tonight.

Race 6: Grass Island Hcp C3 – 1200m (23:45 AEST)
(4) Excellent Fighter deserves to be this price after putting in yet another solid performance last start with the barrier significantly against him. He’s been waiting for another suitable race setup and gets it tonight so should be winning with even luck.
(11) A Americ Te Specso will also prefer this barrier and run in transit to the one he had last start. Karis Teetan will need to be on his game but could get this horse into the minors.
(5) Mark The Moment is another who should be filling the minors here with the jockey of the season Zac Purton aboard.

Race 8: Kau Sai Chai Hcp C2 – 1400m (00:50 AEST)
(4) Flying Ace is going to be unstoppable if he’s found his form from last preparation. Let’s hope so as he provided some electric entertainment with his barnstorming finishes. Last win gave plenty of hope.
(5) A Pal won 1st up last time but could bounce from that performance. He’s drawn well though and is capable if at his best.
(1) Howdeepisyourlove is in a tricky situation tonight from gate 13. That said, he’s consistent if nothing else and was jumping at extremely short odds earlier this prep so is clearly capable of winning when at his best.
