Scone hosts a 10 race card this Saturday with four listed races and a group 3. The first race commences at 11:05am AEST and the last concludes at 4:30pm AEST. The rail is out 2m from the 800m to the 400m and true for the remainder.. Conditions are set to be SOFT. Watch and monitor.

Scone Racing Tips: Saturday, May 17th 2025
Race 4: Lion BM72– 1300m – 2:10pm (AEST)
(1) Blazing Harry $6.50/$2.30: 4YO Gelding who was excellent last campaign and has been good in both his trials albeit being unplaced. Goes well fresh and is one from one on the soft track. Looks to be a main danger, but the 62kg is the only worry, otherwise he must be considered.
(5) Oh Diamond Lil $3.50: Resuming 4YO Mare who was terrific last campaign with three wins from her last four runs. She returns in similar grade and has been very good in both of her trials leading in. Both trials have been over 1200m and she has led and won by 3.5L and 7L. Hasn’t really been asked the question in either of the trials and the most recent one was on the heavy deck which gives us more confidence with her running on the weather effected track. She rates well and has placed twice on both of her first up runs. Draws pole position and maps to be up on the pace/lead to dictate to her liking. K-Mac has a good record on top and she must be respected for this of last campaigns efforts and with the two terrific trials. Goes well.
(12) Colophon $9.00/$2.80: 3YO Gelding who looks to be a nice blow out hope here. His record is pretty handy and was terrific two runs back winning by almost 6L. Well held last time out, but raced keenly. Looks suited over 1300m and gets in nicely with 3kg claim engaged. Sniff
(5) Oh Diamond Lil

Race 6: Gro Events BM78 - 1100m – 2:00pm (AEST)
(1) Spanish Fox $27.00/$6.00: Roughie of the field who we had a nibble at last start, but the heavy track played a role when lugging 60kg. Second up now and will only be improving off that. Remains at 78 grade, but gets in lighter with a 3kg claim. If we happen to see a dry track, he will be playing a role. Blow out hope.
(6) Zealousy $3.60: 3YO Gelding who has been good in both runs back and most recently deserved to finish closer after being 3WNC for the entirety and still managed to run on and hit the line strongly. Meets similar company and gets in nicely with Nock claiming 2kg. Draws a handy gate and maps to get a much better run in transit and shouldn’t be getting caught wide. Strips fitter third up and will be hooning late. Will have admirers.
(7) Dollar Magic $11.00/$3.30: 6YO Mare who resumes off a 125 day spell and has trialled nicely on two occasions. She gets back to the Scone Track where she has a record of 2 wins and a second from the three runs. Terrific record over this trip and handles the wet track nicely. I am happy to have an each way play on this girl here with the 3kg claim engaged and with the two trials under her belt that were both good. She draws gate 11, but maps to get a spot just off the pace and will be running on. Rarely runs a bad race and is generally around the mark. Looks to be the roughie of the field. Each way

Race 9: Arrowfield Dark Jewel Classic (GROUP 3) - 1400m – 3:50pm (AEST)
(1) Vibrant Sun $19.00/$4.50: 4YO Mare who rates nicely for this and has looked sound in both trials leading in. Yet to score first up, but with the two trials under her belt id suggest she will have a fitness built. Out of the Autumn Sun and with a little luck from the wide gate she could play a role here. Blow out hope.
(9) Written In Code $4.80: The favourite of the race who has been terrific thus far with 2 wins and a fourth last start on the heavy deck. Gets back onto the soft/good track and will have plenty of admirers. Rock hard fit, draws well and has been racing soundly. Goes well.
(15) Zeitung $5.00/$2.05: 3YO Filly who has been sound in all her runs this prep and most recently ran on well in the Hawkesbury Guineas when she didn’t have clear running until late into the last furlong. Continues to improve and is knocking on the door. Ready to win.
