Sale Racing Club gets the Wednesday time slot this week and with a bit of rain around the track may get a downgrade. The surface is currently rated a Soft6 and we concentrate on horses who are proven on damp ground. It’s just a moderate program out there this week but there are three horses I have picked that look to be of potential Saturday class.
Brendan Bunworth offers his best bets for Wednesday at Sale below, and be sure to head over to our Racing Tips page regularly as we offer our best bets for all the key meetings each week.

Sale Racing Tips: Wednesday, June 25th 2025
Race 5: Bill Jones Handicap - 2:20pm (AEST)
(1) Boga Legend has drawn barrier 13 over the random distance of 1746m and the Mitch Freedman does have very good form on wet tracks which is key. Last start at Geelong over 1700m he won well on the Soft and before that he managed two placings in a row on Good tracks. I think if they were on wetter ground he would have won them too. He has already been backed in so we won’t get any odds but McNeil who has never missed a top 3 finish on him, stays on.
(7) Governor King was last at Geelong last start but had no luck. Go on his two previous efforts before that where he placed, beaten less than a length.
(4) Revolver is racing well and would probably be the tip if he was running on a Dry track. He will roll forward and try to slow them up mid-race.
(1) Boga Legend

Race 7: Max Blakiston Handicap - 3:30pm (AEST)
(1) Down Lo is in the in-form Kent&Price stable and the mare was in form too before her spell having been in the money in her latest three runs. She has drawn low in one and that should ensure she gets a nice run here and I think she will settle behind the leader in this one. Has a first and a third to her name on the Soft and she has raced well in Group company previously. Is up in weight now but is tough enough.
(2) Enna’s Dream is the fav and has a similar profile to Down Lo. She is resuming from a spell and she likes Soft ground too. She has placed twice first up and she will settle close to her main rival.
(3) Grinzinger Love is 1 from 1 on the Soft and that was last start at Seymour so confidence is on her side. Before that she ran on quite well at Werribee when runner up. Each-Way.
(1) Down Low Each-Way
$4.40/$1.70 (1U/2U)
Race 8: David Wilsn Handicap - 4:05pm (AEST)
(11) Ten Deep for the Moody&Coleman camp gets the nod here after she raced really well at Hillside last start. She has since been fresehend and has had a jumpout in readiness for this. She hasn’t raced on a Soft track in a while but gets his favourite conditions here. He has won twice form four starts on the Soft and he has previously won over the 1400m. Consistent and she should get the mile next start on hopefully another rain-affected track.
(8) Eugenius is capable on the Dry and Soft and he does seem to race well here at Sale. Likes the distance and should get a good steer from barrier 7.
(10) Vienna Vixen was beaten less than half a length in a stronger race than this at Flemington last start (4th). Has won here previously.
(11) Ten Deep
