The fifth and final day of the Royal Ascot carnival takes places on Saturday with seven races on the program. Action gets underway at 11:30pm (AEST) and the highlight of the card is in Race 3 at 12:40am (AEST), which is the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes. Australian runner Artorius is the favourite in the feature race, with champion jockey James Mcdonald on board.

Ryal Ascot 2023 Day 5 Preview and Betting Tips

Race 1: Chesham Stakes (Listed) – 11:30pm AEST
The final day of Royal Ascot today kicking off with the Listed Chesham Stakes, and I’m going straight in with one at a huge odds. (11) CAROLINA REAPER for Charlie Johnston, although she was only 4th on debut it was an eye-catching run at Beverley. She surely has more to come.
The best of the Aidan O’Brien runners looks to be (16) Pearls And Rubies.
Others to note include (13) La Guarida, (3) Golden Mind as well as (6) Matnookh and (5) Lightning Leo.
Another I like at an even bigger odds than Carolina Reaper is (4) Hot Fuss for Tom Dascombe. Another who finished 4th on debut and looks to go ok up in trip. A fun one for each way punters.
Race 2: Jersey Stakes (Group 3) – 12:05am AEST
Aidan O’Brien has had a great week at Royal Ascot and he runs (2) THE ANTARCTIC in this, it’s the pick for me ahead of (5) Covey. The Antarctic won a Group 3 on reappearance at Naas and has been placed a few times previously behind another of Aidan’s classier horses Blackbeard (who now stands at Coolmore Stud). With the step up to 7f right up his street.
(5) Covey who is improving rapidly (2111) goes up in class with a serious chance for John and Thady Gosden who have had an excellent week at Royal Ascot.
Roger Varian and Kevin Stott had a big winner yesterday with King Of Steel and they team up in this race with the filly (15) Olivia Maralda, could go well for a team in red hot form.
Race 3: Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes (Group 1) – 12:40am AEST
Australian runner (2) Artorius deserves respect after going close in this race last year (was 3rd).
(4) Big Invasion for Christophe Clement looks like one at tasty odds. 2nd on his most recent start in a Grade 1 at Belmont Park. Expect a big run.
(10) ROHAAN absolutely loves this place, he’s won here 4 times and has been running in Group company for a while. He looks to add a Group 1 win to his CV today.
Must also give (15) Sacred a mention for William Haggas/Aussie Tom (Marquand).
Race 4: Hardwicke Stakes (Group 2) – 1:20am AEST
Just the 2 to concentrate on in this for me.
(8) Free Wind is a really nice mare with 6 wins from 8 races. Her most recent start she beat Rogue Millennium (winner earlier this week) in the Group 2 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Middleton Fillies' Stakes at York. She’s a mare going places and looks a strong contender.
(5) HUKUM for Owen Burrows is the other I fancy. Won the Group 3 Racehorse Lotto Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown on his last start beating Desert Crown (2022 Derby winner) that dy. Before that he won the Group 1 Dahlbury Coronation Cup at Epsom. Jim Crowley rides (jockey had a winner earlier this week on Mostahdaf in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes).
Race 5: Wokingham Stakes (Heritage Handicap) – 2am AEST
(18) KHANJAR tries cheekpieces which could bring out some more from him. He’s won at Ascot before over this distance (6f) and he’s the pick at nice odds.
Hollie Doyle bagged another big winner yesterday in the last race and she rides (14) Saint Laurence for Archie Watson. He’s changed trainers and could run well for his new trainer.
Also look out for Scandinavian super horse (4) Duca Di Como who can run well at huge odds. Each way punt.
Race 6: Golden Gates Stakes (Handicap) – 2:35am AEST
Frankie Dettori’s final Royal Ascot ride is (13) KNOCKBREX and I think Frankie can go out on a high with this fella. Johnston runners always command respect. Drops back in trip and was 2nd in April at Haydock Park, in a race won by Gregory (who won the Group 2 Queen's Vase earlier this week).
(6) Canute looks the better of the Aidan O’Brien runners.
The other Johnston runner (15) Lion Of War deserves a good mention too with Oisin Murphy up (jockey won the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup yesterday).
And finally (17) Ziryab for the Gosden’s is another that could go well.
Race 7: Queen Alexandra Stakes – 3:10am AEST
The Queen Alexandra Stakes brings down the curtain on Royal Ascot 2023.
Willie Mullins runners whether over the jumps or flat always should be respected and he runs (1) Stratum in the last with Will Buick in the saddle. Stratum is going for a hattrick in this race (won it in 2021 and 2022).
(3) DAWN RISING for Joseph O’Brien (trainer won the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes yesterday) is the pick in the last. Up in trip with Ryan Moore in the saddle, looks a good combo!
Must also mention (7) Run For Oscar too.
