NRL Round 13 comes to a close with a fascinating clash between two teams who are exceeding pre-season expectations, as the second placed Raiders head to Allianz Stadium to take on the Roosters, who are pushing for a spot inside the top 8. This should be a great game of footy, and a fitting way to conclude round 13 of the NRL season.
Roosters vs Raiders Prediction & Tips: 2025 NRL Round 13
Roosters Looking to Confirm Themselves as a Top 8 Side
The Roosters will have five players backing up from Origin 1, however with a nice four-day break, I would be surprised if they all weren’t their come kick-off on Sunday afternoon. The Chooks have been in terrific form of late, culminating in their massive upset win over the Sharks last weekend without their Origin quintet, winning 42-16 in Gosford. Many would have thought that James Tedesco would have had to play lights out for the win, and whilst the champion fullback was once again great, it was a real team performance for the Roosters, one coach Trent Robinson can be proud of. With three wins in their past four games, and that single loss coming to the Bulldogs, the Roosters are one of the form teams of the competition right now.
Raiders, Genuine Premiership Contenders
The Raiders come into the game as possibly THE form team of the competition, fresh off a mighty win over the Warriors in Auckland, snapping the Kiwis’ five-game winning streak with a hard fought 16-10 win. The Raiders have won seven of their past eight, and like the Roosters, their sole loss in that time period is to the table topping Bulldogs. Last week, rookie Savelio Tamale showed he could be the next gun Raiders winger, as he ran for over 200 metres, broke 10 tackles and also had a line-break. Other than that performance, it was a team who collectively did their jobs last week, and Head Coach Ricky Stuart finally looks to have brought a premiership contender to the Nation’s Capital.
Roosters vs Raiders Recent History
The Roosters/Raiders rivalry has been an absolute cracker since 2020, with both teams winning five games apiece. They met twice last season, with the road team getting the two points on both occasions.
In round 12, the Roosters came to town as 11.5-point road favourites, with a total of 46.5. In a dominant display, the Roosters won easily, smashing the Raiders 44-16. Joey Manu was at his best for the Roosters, scoring two tries and running for 173 metres, whilst James Tedesco set up two tries and scored two of his own.
The teams met again in round 26 at Allianz Stadium, with the Roosters closing enormous 20.5-point favourites, and a total of 55.5. In a game the Roosters statistically dominated, the Raiders pulled off what was the upset of the season, winning 14-12, despite missing 57 tackles, making 12 errors, having two players sent to the sinbin, and conceding almost 700 metres more to the Roosters. Looking back, this performance could well have been the catalyst to what we’ve seen this season for the Raiders, who have gone from strength to strength.
Raiders to Continue Their Push for an Unlikely Top 4 Spot
The Raiders were listed as short 1.5-point road favourites on the lookahead, before re-opening at the same number. Some money has come in on the Roosters, and this looks like it could well push towards a pick em’, however I don’t think it will get there until all Roosters Origin players are confirmed to back up. I make the Raiders a 3.5-point favourite, and believe they are a genuine top 4 team this season. With this game essentially a pick em’, the Raiders on the money line is a play for me here.
Looking at the total, and it opened 46.5, where it has stayed throughout the week. I make a fair total 53.5 and see tremendous value in the over here. The one concern I have with the over is how pivotal this game is to both teams, which could lend the game to a slower pace, but I love the over here. The Raiders (8-4) and Roosters (6-5) have both been overs teams, and I’ll take the over as my best bet here.

Panthers vs Eels Prop Bet: Tupou to Continue His Try Scoring Form
Our Best Player Prop: Daniel Tupou 1+ Tru
A double last week for Tupou brought his season tally to five tries. Tupou scored two tries in the 14-12 loss to the Raiders at the end of last season, and attacking the weaker right edge of the Raiders will surely be the plan for the Roosters in this game. Has shown over multiple years he knows his way to the tryline, expect a try here for the Roosters flyer.

Roosters vs Raiders Same Game Multi
Leg 1: Raiders ML – As outlined above, at near pick em’ prices, the Raiders have shown enough this season to get the better of the Roosters.
Leg 2: D Tupou (1+ try) – See above in the Prop Bet guide, Tupou will be hard to deny this week.
Leg 3: H Young (1+ try) – Young will be fresh coming from Origin, having only played 26 minutes, and will be fired up to add to his tally of 2025 tries, which currently sits at 9. The Roosters allow the most tries through the middle of any team in the NRL and expect Young to be sniffing around the ruck in the redzone.
