Midweek racing in New South Wales continues at Randwick this week, and we are set for a seven-race card. The first race is set to commence at 2pm (AEDT) and the last set to finish at 5:50pm (AEDT). Anticipation for the track to be in a GOOD condition, but watch and monitor for any changes. Selections made at 6:30pm AEDT on 30th October 2023.

Race 3: Bivouac First Yearlings BM72 1550m at 3:10pm AEDT
(6) PETERSHAM ($1.80) – 4YO Mare who won her maiden by almost three lengths and then went straight to open grade where she was tested. Dropped back to this grade (BM72) and wasn’t that far away. Winner was out of Winx (CITY OF LIGHTS) and looks a smart horse. Same grade now and drops half a kilo. Fitter now second up and looks the one to beat. Goes well.
(7) ZELTA ($4.40) – Stable mate to PETERSHAM and comes back in grade after a respectable run in open grade. Remains light weight and will take catching. Exacta for the stable?
(6) PETERSHAM - WIN

Race 5: Ranvet BM72 1000m at 4:30pm AEDT
(8) GILMORE ($3.90) – 4YO Mare who did a terrific job to score last start carrying 60.5kg. Rises up in class now and gets 7kg off her back with a 3kg claimer in the saddle. Rock hard fit fourth up now and looks the one to beat. Draws well and will take catching.
(3) Valiancy ($3.70) – Early favourite who has some support. Ran some nice races last prep with a few wins and then failed in open class. Returns fresh today with good first up form. Comes in off two trials and will be competitive in this grade. Goes well.
(8) GILMORE - WIN

Race 7: VALE Eric Conlon BM72 1400m at 5:50pm AEDT
(14) ATLANTIC OCEAN ($4.80) – 4YO gelding who ran a nice race last start this grade/trip. Has since had a trial and gets James McDonald in the saddle. Finds it hard to win, but looks suited here if he shows up. Draws okay for where he wants to sit (Midfield) This distance is in striking range and looks one of the main chances. Early drift, but I’m keen to be on Top Tote. He will be coming late.
(11) VINNIES SPIRIT ($4.60) – Consistent type who we tipped two runs back at each way odds and he flew for second. Buttered up with a second last start. Looks like the rise to 1400m will suit here. Only fitter third up, so the one to beat. Goes well.
