Race 5: Ranvet BM78 1100m - 4:05pm (AEDT)
(2) Our Bellagio $16/$3.40: 7YO mare who has been enormous late in both her runs this prep. Drops significantly in class now, but would need to see some rain about if she is going to be a confident winning chance here. First up she flew home having the fastest last 200m of the meeting (Saturday Grade) Last start still hit the line nicely, but needed to be closer on the speed that day. Draws wide here, but only 8 in the race so if she can get some early speed and sit up on the pace she is every chance. Nice value play.
(6) Cigar Flick $2.45 3YO filly who demands respect here. First race since her debut win that hasn’t been in group or listed grade. She won first up last time over this track/trip in tougher grade and carried more weight. J-Mac in the saddle is a confidence boost and if she jumps well and gets on the speed she will be the one to beat here. Goes well.

Race 6: Yarraman Park BM78 1550M – 4:50pm (AEDT)
(4) Infinitive $2.80: 4YO mare who peaks between 1400-1900m so this looks okay. Comes in off a nice trail run too. Two runs prior have been behind CEERSEVEN and HELL HATH NO FURY who have since franked the form. HELL HATH NO FURY winning a group 2 and CEERSEVEN finishing 3rd in 84 grade. Rock hard fit now and if there is anyone making ground today she is a big chance. Otherwise we will need some luck from the gate to be able to get forward and not having to leave it too late to pick them up. Class horse.
(1) Special Swey $26/$5.00: Top weight who has dropped in class significantly here, but will need to lug 61.5kg now. Draws well to be able to ping the lids and set the pace. If he can dictate in front he will be the one to run down. Weight the only concern, but good enough here.

Race 8: Tab BM72– 5:50pm (AEDT)
(10) Firestorm $5.50/$2: NZ horse who makes her debut in Australia here. Has had two trials where she wasn’t really asked the question. She comes over here with 1 maiden win to her name, but has been racing in group and listed level with her most recent run being at Group 1 level only finishing 4L behind the winner and was hitting the line well. The kiwis generally go pretty well over here, so I am keen to have an each way play off the form provided.
(1) Sonoroa $7.00/$2.25: Last start winner over this trip and grade. Gets half a kilo off that winning run too. Runner who came second behind her that day has since gone on to win which builds confidence off that last winning run. Draws a handy gate and can set the pace where it looks to favour with the rail in its true position. Worth thought at an each way price.
