A benchmark-level race meeting at Randwick this weekend but it’s a huge 10-race card. Excited to get underway for 2024 NSW metro racing and hopefully kick of the new year with a few winners.

Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday January 6th 2024
Race 4: Bisley Workwear (Bm78) - 1300m (14:15 AEDT)
(1) Terra Mater is better than this grade. She’s won 2 in a row and looking for a 3rd here in Bm78 company against horses who are a level below her at the moment. Short price is warranted.
(5) Rocketeer Girl leads here and poses the greatest threat if she gets a soft lead. Will need to be good to beat the favourite.
(3) African Daisy follows Rocketeer Girl into the straight and gets off her back to challenge. One for minors and should be making up the top 3.

Race 9: Climate Roofing (Bm78) - 2000m (16:20 AEDT)
(1) Rogue Bear is a good price for a horse who is ready to win. Gets a 3kg claim and is drawn well so expect him to go well.
(8) Kapakiri has won 3 in a row now and although he’s a top chance, you have to wonder when the streak will end.
(4) Commander Harry won a tough race at Caufield over 2000m and arrives here 4th up with Nash aboard. It’s a nice setup and the horse is a big price.

Race 10: Ranvet (Bm72) - 1100m (16:55 AEDT)
(12) Miss Emma is drawn far better than her rivals here which gives her a huge advantage. She’s 4th market elect but the top 3 are all drawn double figure barriers. If even one of those runners has a tough run, Miss Emma should be beating it home into the placings.
(7) Shaken is too short to back from the wide barrier but does look like an elite filly on the way up. Her record is just about unblemished.
(3) Boston Rocks is also short and drawn wide. If he overcomes the draw he’s a huge chance as indicated by the market having him so short.
