Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday, February 11th 2023
Race 4
(9) King Ratel has clearly been deliberately placed in this race dropping back in distance from 2000m to the mile and stepping up in grade to get down in weight. He’s drawn perfectly in gate 2 and is undoubtedly going to get a lot go his way here. Hard to ignore.
(1) Ascension brings good form to Sydney from Melbourne finishing 3rd last time to Pounding in a bm100. Drawn perfectly for an astute stable and should be firing here.
(4) Bold Mac won last time which did come as a slight surprise although he was well-supported. James McDonald stays with the horse here and can definitely give him a good chance of going back-to-back. Still query him over the mile.
(9) King Ratel Each-Way

Race 7
(6) North Star Lass looks a reasonable approach to tackling this race from a betting perspective. In Secret is too short. Plain and simple any 3yo returning should not be that short given how often 3yo’s fail and mix their form between preparations. North Star Lass trialled well and is a leader. She should get a peaceful time in front with little pace in the race so is a nice price with that in mind.
(1) In Secret is too short to back, but is undoubtedly the top chance in the race and should be favourite on what she did to all of her rivals across her 6 races to date. Her trials have been quiet so it’s hard to gauge where she’s at but if she brings her best here, suspect she just wins.
(11) Sunshine In Paris is yet to take on the big time but gets her chance here and is right in this. Gate 1 will get her a long way here and her recent trial was very encouraging with the filly showing strength through the line.
(6) North Star Lass Each-Way
$9/$2.40 (1 Unit)
Race 8
(1) Anamoe looks the best on the card here and much like In Secret should just win if he turns up near his best. He is short but has proven he can win over all sorts of trips all throughout his preparation. Expect him to get every possible chance from a middle gate.
(10) Icebath deserves a mention here after going out with a bang last preparation and taking out her elusive maiden Group 1 race in the Empire Rose. She has a solid 1st up record and loves the 1400m so should be right in her element here.
(11) Fangirl could run a race in this 1st up but would need to be very good to beat the favourite. She capped off what was a subpar preparation with a 2nd in the Golden Eagle so has to be respected off that.
