Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday, December 8th 2023
Race 2: Bob Ingham Ao (Bm72) - 1400m (12:55 AEDT)
(1) Step Aside will prove hard to beat in this race given his performance 1st up. He’s only up 1kg in weight and drawn perfectly with Nash aboard to receive every favour in the run.
(5) Afterlight is also well drawn but is up in grade here. If she follows the favourite she might be the main danger.
(2) Zouatica will lead here and can win if she gets an easy time in the lead. Tougher grade for her though.

Race 8: Listed Racing And Sports Razor Sharp Hcp - 1200m (16:40 AEDT)
(3) Insurrection walked in to win last start in open grade and can repeat the dose here if he gets a nice enough run near the speed or in the lead. Expect him to shorten come race day especially if the conditions favour on-speed runners.
(5) Recommendation is perfectly drawn in this and goes great on dry ground. Blinkers are back on for this and he looks in it to win it this time.
(2) Rocketing By has been racing in huge races this prep at massive prices. This is the easiest race he’s contested by far so he’s a horse that can’t be left out.
(3) Insurrection - win

Race 10: Aloha Strawberry Hill Stud (Bm88) - 1100m (17:55 AEDT)
(12) Dalaalaat gets gate 3 in this event and Tim Clark aboard. He’s the get out stakes for the day at Randwick boasting a strong record against good horses and having won his only start over this trip.
(1) Lady Laguna has always been pinned as a dry tracker in my book. She’ll get a dry track fresh on the weekend and can make an impact in the race.
(7) Way To The Stars is an obvious main hope in the race with such a strong record. On-pace racing pattern and a good barrier draw. That said he’s short and i’m not as confident as the market.
