June 27th 2025, 3:54pm, By: Trent Orwin

Pinjarra Racing Tips

Pinjarra hosts an eight-race card on Saturday and big fields are the order of the day, with all races having a minimum of 10 runners, and the fifth boasting 20 acceptances! The Belmont Guineas at Listed level is the feature with racing commencing at 12:41pm (2:41pm AEST) as cloudy conditions are expected on race day with the track currently rated a Soft 5 and the rail out two metres for the entire circuit.

Trent Orwin is back in the saddle as he brings us his three best bets for day from Pinjarra, and if you’re after more free tips for this weekend’s key meetings, then head over to our Racing Tips page!

Pinjarra Racing Tips: Saturday, June 28th 2025

Race 1: TABTOUCH WESTSPEED PLATINUM HANDICAP (1000 METRES) – 12:41pm (2:41pm AEST)

(2) Let’s Talk continues to race well for trainer Jim Taylor and the four-year-old gelding is having his fifth start this campaign. He started with a pair of wins before finishing fifth and then a third placed effort at his latest when narrowly beaten by Prospector’s Pick and En Plein Air. The quick freshen up looks good, outside barrier is good and En Plein Air has subsequently won at Bunbury.

(1) Lord Shiva is the obvious danger as he chases a hat-trick of wins this preparation. Both wins have come in Class 3 events over the 1000m, including a 4.76-length demolition of rivals. This shapes as an excellent clash with Let’s Talk and both horses should have plenty of supporters.

(4) Empress Of India is a five-year-old mare coming off a fourth placing behind Haida Gwaii. She is on the quick back up and did win first up from a spell. Should run another competitive race.

(2) Let’s Talk WIN

$3.00 (2 units)

Race 3: TABTOUCH SUPPORTS PINJARRA PARK HANDICAP (1200 METRES) – 1:54pm (3:54pm AEST)

(2) Repossession is starting to put together a very nice resume in his early career with the Chris and Michael Gangemi-trained three-year-old gelding winning four of six starts. He has won the past two by 1.5 lengths or more and now steps up from the 1000m to 1200m. Back in November, he competed over the 1200m when fourth behind Wind And The Lion in the Listed Placid Ark Stakes (1200m). Clearly looks the horse to beat on Saturday.

(10) Celestial Storm continues to be a model of consistency with five wins and eight minor placings from her 21 starts. Two starts ago she defeated Wind And The Lion before finishing third behind Richanco and Hanchi.

(5) Hanchi copped a bit of trouble near the 400m and that likely cost him the race against Richanco last month. He is going to be back in the field and will need some luck, but if it comes, he can be very threatening late.

(2) Repossession WIN

$2.20 (3 units)

Race 7: BELMONT GUINEAS (1600 METRES) – 4:20pm (6:20pm AEST)

The feature of the day is the Listed Belmont Guineas for three-year-olds with $125,000 in prizemoney up for grabs. A field of 12 currently remains with one scratching to date.

(3) Opportunistic was a patient training performance to get him to the track and Michael Grantham has done a wonderful job with the gelding winning both career starts. From a maiden to the Listed Raconteur Stakes (1400m), Opportunistic will look to remain unbeaten with another booming run from back in the field. It will be his first attempt at the mile, but there’s no indication to suggest that it won’t be suitable.

(7) Storyville couldn’t match Opportunistic or Elite Missile in the Raconteur after having a head start on the pair. There is a massive swing in the weights this time around and that could prove the difference with Willie Pike looking to settle ahead of both runners once again. Storyville will love the mile after winning both the Group 3 WA Champion Fillies Stakes and Group 2 WA Guineas over this distance back in November.

(2) Elite Missile was game in defeat in the Raconteur and looks to turn the tables on Opportunistic. His only run over the mile was a 3.58-length defeat in the WA Guineas won by Storyville. Should be finishing strongly.

(3) Opportunistic WIN

$3.60 (2 units)
