Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City
Date: Sunday 8 November 2026
Time: 4:30am AEDT
Venue: City Ground, Nottingham
Manchester City's title challenge has hit an unexpected hurdle, with consecutive Premier League defeats leaving Pep Guardiola's side three points behind Arsenal after nine matches. A 2-1 loss at Aston Villa was followed by a surprising 1-0 home defeat against Brighton, raising questions about City's attacking consistency after an otherwise impressive start to the campaign.
Nottingham Forest are enduring an even more difficult period, having failed to win any of their last five league matches. Their attacking struggles have been particularly concerning, with just two goals scored across those five fixtures. However, Forest have shown they can make life difficult for stronger opposition, holding City to a 2-2 draw in March and recording a 1-0 home victory over them in March 2025.
City will understandably start favourites, but backing them at around $1.68 offers limited appeal given their recent performances. Forest's defensive approach against stronger sides could produce another frustrating afternoon for the visitors, particularly if City struggle to convert possession into clear chances. With four of Forest's last five matches finishing below three goals, the unders market offers a more interesting alternative. The obvious risk is City's attacking firepower, having scored 20 goals in their opening nine league matches. However, Forest's recent low-scoring fixtures and City's consecutive defeats suggest the visitors may face another difficult contest.
Crystal Palace vs Liverpool
Date: Monday 9 November 2026
Time: 1:00am AEDT
Venue: Selhurst Park, London
Liverpool head to Selhurst Park looking to recover from a narrow 1-0 defeat against Arsenal, a result that interrupted a promising run of three victories in four league matches. The Reds have generally performed well against teams outside the leading contenders, including recent away wins over Brentford and Bournemouth, and should see this as an opportunity to get their campaign back on track.
Crystal Palace have suffered three consecutive Premier League defeats without scoring, conceding nine goals in the process. Although they recorded a League Cup victory over Fulham during that period, their recent league performances have been concerning.
Liverpool's own attacking output has been inconsistent against stronger opposition, which makes a big winning-margin bet difficult to justify. However, Palace's lack of goals and defensive vulnerabilities make the straightforward away win appealing. Liverpool have won four of their last six league fixtures, and their superior attacking quality should eventually tell against a Palace side short on confidence.
Manchester United vs Aston Villa
Date: Monday 9 November 2026
Time: 3:30am AEDT
Venue: Old Trafford, Manchester
Manchester United's miserable start to the season continued with a 2-0 defeat against Chelsea last weekend, extending their record to just one win from their first nine Premier League matches this season. Michael Carrick's side suffered consecutive defeats against Bournemouth and Chelsea which have further exposed their lack of attacking threat. United have scored only three times across their last six league fixtures, with confidence clearly becoming an issue at Old Trafford.
Aston Villa arrive with considerably stronger Premier League form, unbeaten in their last five league matches with three wins and two draws. That run includes impressive victories over Tottenham, Newcastle and Manchester City, although their overall momentum has been interrupted by 3-0 defeats to Bournemouth in the League Cup and Barcelona in the Champions League.
Manchester United's struggles make Villa an attractive proposition, particularly after consecutive league defeats to Bournemouth and Chelsea without scoring. However, Villa's recent cup performances suggest this is far from a straightforward away victory. At around $2.90, the visitors still appeal as a value selection, but their recent inconsistency across competitions warrants some caution.
