The 2026 NRL Finals Series moves into Week 2 with six teams still alive in the premiership race.
Penrith and the Dolphins have already booked their places in the Preliminary Finals after winning their Qualifying Finals in Week 1, leaving four teams to fight for the remaining two spots this weekend.
Saturday night sees the Sydney Roosters take on the Cronulla Sharks at Allianz Stadium, while Sunday afternoon features the New Zealand Warriors against the Newcastle Knights at Eden Park.
Both matches are sudden-death. Win and advance to the final four; lose and the 2026 season is over.

Week 2 begins on Saturday night with a huge Sydney clash between the Sydney Roosters and Cronulla Sharks at Allianz Stadium.
The Roosters get a second chance after going down 19-12 to Penrith in their Qualifying Final, with the Panthers progressing directly to the Preliminary Finals. The Roosters now face a genuine knockout contest with no further safety net.
Cronulla kept their season alive with a Week 1 Elimination Final victory over North Queensland and arrive with the confidence of already surviving a sudden-death contest.
The winner advances to face the Dolphins in the Preliminary Final, while the losing team's season comes to an end.

Newcastle arrive after eliminating South Sydney 20-10 in Week 1. The Knights have already shown they can perform under knockout pressure and now face the challenge of winning across the Tasman.

What Happens After NRL Finals Week 2?
Four teams will remain in the race for the premiership once the two Semi Finals are complete.
The winner of Roosters vs Sharks will advance to face the Dolphins in one Preliminary Final.
The winner of Warriors vs Knights will move on to face Penrith in the other Preliminary Final.
The winners of those two Preliminary Finals will then meet in the 2026 NRL Grand Final.
