Port Adelaide vs GWS Prediction & Betting Tips: AFL 2026 Round 21
Power Playing for Pride at Home
Port Adelaide returns to the Adelaide Oval this Saturday night aiming to salvage some pride in what has been a difficult 2026 campaign. Sitting down in 15th position on the ladder with a dismal 6-13 record, the Power are well out of the finals race. They have faced a tough recent stretch, coming off heavy defeats to Brisbane and Fremantle in the past fortnight. Coach Josh Carr will be asking for a response from his men in front of their home fans, despite dealing with a brutal injury list that currently has star playmakers Zak Butters and Connor Rozee sidelined. With those massive midfield absences, the heavy lifting falls squarely onto the shoulders of Jason Horne-Francis, who has been in phenomenal touch and will be relied upon to drive this team forward.
Depleted Giants Fading Fast
The Giants travel to South Australia with their season hanging by the barest of threads. Currently sitting in 12th position with an 8-11 record, they have made a frustrating habit of dropping games against sides below them on the ladder. In fact, the Giants have lost their last four matches against opposition they were widely expected to beat. Making matters significantly worse is a mounting injury crisis that has absolutely gutted their top-end talent. Star midfielder Finn Callaghan has recently been ruled out for the remainder of the season following ankle surgery.
Match Prediction and Best Bet
This is an incredibly tricky match to assess with high confidence given that both teams enter the contest heavily undermanned. The Giants are technically still fighting to keep their top 10 and finals chances alive, but deep down, they will know that mountain is simply too steep to climb with such a crippling injury list. Port Adelaide should get enough of a boost from playing at home to secure the four points, but with both squads missing so much top-end talent, a blow-out on either side feels unlikely. Expect a scrappy, tight battle at Adelaide Oval where the Power do just enough to hold off GWS.

Port Adelaide vs GWS Prop Bet
Jack Whitlock has been one of the shining lights for Power fans this season. In just his second season and still yet to fill out into his big frame, he’s shown some genuine upside with his ability to mark inside 50 and take the ball at the highest point. He may only be averaging 1.0 goals per game, but the Power are favourites here and Whitlock has the ability to stretch the GWS defence with Sam Taylor most likely going to Mitch Georgiades.

Jack Whitlock 2+ Goals: For the reasons mentioned above in our prop bet.
Callum Brown Anytime Goal Scorer: He’s a bit of an enigma, although he continues to hit the scoreboard with at least one goal in each of his last five matches.
Joe Berry Anytime Goal Scorer: He’s starting to show his potential as a lively forward for the Power with four goals in his last five matches. Adds some nice juice to a nice SGM.
