Rosehill Gardens Racing Tips: Saturday, March 14th 2026
Race 6: Toyota Forklifts Maurice Mccarten Stakes 1100m - 3:25pm (AEDT)
(2) Kerguelen: 5YO gelding who was enormous first up when didn’t even look like winning and then exploded through the centre of the track and getting it done right on the line. Final 200m was slick. Capable of going on with it, but gets a poor draw and will need some luck again. Any rain about will boost confidence
(3) Flying For Fun: 4YO Mare who resumes off 2 x handy trials and showed good ability last campaign. Should be improving again and gets a handy draw here and retains Zac Lloyd boosting confidence. Looks genuine value at the price and expect her to be right in the finish.
(4) King’s Secret: Talented 4YO Gelding who has a very good CV 6 wins from 11 career starts and 4 further placings. Tackles his hardest test yet, but trialled well and relishes these conditions. Draws a nice alley and looks ready to win at this level.
Also Backing: (3) Flying For Fun WIN $9.50 (0.5 Units)
(4) King’s Secret WIN
$6.00 (1.5 Units)
Race 8: Coolmore Classic Group 1 1500m – 4:35pm (AEDT)
(1) Lazzura: 4YO Mare who we tipped first up and when straightening you couldn’t have had enough on, but just couldn’t knock off CINSAULT. Gaps to third though. Strips fitter now and is capable of going one better second up. J-Mac sticks. Goes well.
(4) Verona Rose: 4YO Mare who went enormous last start at Group 2 level winning comfortably against some key rivals here. The extra 100m will only suit further off that effort and with Craig Williams in red hot form there is no reason he doesn’t go on with things here. Soft conditions boosting confidence.
(7) Savvy Hallie: 3YO Filly who was brave in defeat last start against Group 1 company and only narrowly went down to the talented Tempted with gaps to third. Maps to dictate to her liking again here and if the track Is a leader bias come race 8 she will be crunched in the market. Will take catching.
(4) Verona Rose E/W
$9.00/$2.80 (0.5U/1.5U)
Race 9: Hyland Race Colours Ajax Stakes 1500m – 4:40pm (AEDT)
(2) Militarize: 5YO Gelding who was heavily backed first up and was far from disgraced when running on gamely in the inferior going to finish 4th. Closing sectionals were sound and the step up to 1500m now looks ideal. Strips fitter second up and J-Mac has opted to stay in the saddle. Draws well and with the expected speed on paper the race may set up nicely for him to run on and pick them up late. I concede he doesn’t win out of turn, but this set up looks good for another chance at winning.
(3) Robusto: 6YO gelding resuming off a 9 week break, but kept ticking over with a trail. I do prefer him further into his prep, but he does have the sole first up win to his name. Gets soft conditions where he is 11: 4-3-2. Maps to dictate and will be in this for a long way. Blow out hope.
(4) Sandpaper: 6YO gelding who looks a nice roughie if he can get to the front from the low draw and dictate. Will need a little luck as plenty of speed on paper, but likes the soft track and may take catching if he dictates terms. Collett for Baker adds confidence.
(2) Militarize WIN
$3.50 (2 Units)
