NBL26 Round 19 Preview & Betting Tips
Brisbane Bullets vs Adelaide 36ers
Wednesday 7:30pm AEDT (Jan 28), GCSLC
As the NBL26 regular season enters its final stretch, the Brisbane Bullets host the league-leading Adelaide 36ers this Wednesday night at the Gold Coast Sport and Leisure Centre. Tipping off Round 19, this clash finds the two sides at opposite ends of the ladder; Adelaide sits comfortably on top at 20–7, while Brisbane is anchored to the bottom with a 6–22 record.
The Bullets are currently riddled with injury, missing a significant portion of their primary rotation. This depleted roster has led to a major slump in form, with the team currently enduring an eight-game losing streak. Most concerning is Brisbane's offensive output; they have failed to score more than 86 points in each of their last seven outings. While Adelaide has dominated the season series 3–0, they are coming off a high-scoring loss to Sydney and will likely look to sharpen their defensive execution. Given Brisbane’s scoring woes and personnel shortage, it’s hard to see them being efficient enough on offence for the total points to surpass 180.

Sydney Kings vs Illawarra Hawks
Thursday 7:30pm AEDT (Jan 29), Qudos Bank Arena
The Freeway Series ignites this Thursday night at Qudos Bank Arena as the Sydney Kings host the Illawarra Hawks in a crucial Round 19 fixture. With the post-season rapidly approaching, Sydney (18–9) is locked in a fierce battle for a top-two finish, while the Hawks (10–16) are fighting to keep their Play-in dreams alive.
The Kings enter this clash in peak form, having won five straight games, including a massive 106–101 statement victory over the league-leading 36ers in Round 18. Their defensive identity has tightened significantly since the mid-season, while their offensive depth remains the league's gold standard. In contrast, while Illawarra recently found some rhythm with a dominant win over Brisbane, they have struggled against elite opposition on the road. Sydney has dictated terms in both previous encounters this season, claiming 27-point and 24-point victories. Given the Kings' current momentum and recent dominance in this rivalry, expect another convincing performance at home.

New Zealand Breakers vs Melbourne United
Friday 5:30pm AEDT (Jan 30), Spark Arena
Spark Arena sets the stage this Friday night for a high-stakes Round 19 encounter between the New Zealand Breakers and Melbourne United. Melbourne (18–10) arrives with significant momentum following a perfect Round 18, which featured a dominant 32-point dismantling of Brisbane and a gritty one-point escape against Perth on the road. The visiting side has prioritised defensive identity lately, allowing the fewest points per game in the league over the last couple of rounds.
In contrast, the Breakers (10–17) are reeling from consecutive losses against South East Melbourne and Adelaide. They are currently facing a major injury crisis; star big man Sam Mennenga has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a wrist fracture, further depleting a frontcourt already missing Rob Baker II. New Zealand has struggled to contain high-octane offences recently, conceding 123 and 112 points in their last two outings. Melbourne has dominated the season series 3–0, winning all previous encounters by an average of 14 points. United should be far too strong once again.
Melbourne United -3.5
