This big game sees the Eastern Conference's best team, the Detroit Pistons (15-2), visit the struggling and injured Boston Celtics (9-8). The Pistons are on a huge 13-game winning streak and are great for betting, with a fantastic 12-5 record against the spread, thanks to their top-level defence.
The Celtics are in trouble because their star player, Jayson Tatum (OUT - Achilles), and their main rebounder, Neemias Queta (OUT - Ankle), are both out. Boston struggles with shooting and losing at home, which is bad news against a solid Detroit team that plays great defence (4th best in the league).
Detroit's calm, steady style, led by star Cade Cunningham and strong rebounder Jalen Duren, is perfect for beating the short-handed Celtics, who are missing their main scorer and their big man. Since the Pistons have won 13 straight games and the Celtics are going through a rebuild of sorts, the betting line of -2.5 points for Detroit seems completely fair. This should be another win for the leaders of the East.

This exciting Western Conference matchup sees the in-form Houston Rockets (11-4) travel to face the storied Golden State Warriors (10-9). The Rockets are one of the most exciting teams in the league right now, riding high with a great 6-1 record against the spread in away games, largely due to their explosive offence. The Warriors, meanwhile, are dealing with inconsistency and injuries as they battle to remain competitive.
The home side gets a boost with defensive anchor Draymond Green expected back (Probable - Foot), but they are still struggling to find a consistent rhythm. Despite the recent uneven play, Golden State relies heavily on the generational scoring talent of Stephen Curry to power their attack. Houston’s sheer speed and elite scoring ability (putting up an average of 122.3 points per game) are the perfect weapon to expose a Warriors defence that has shown its age. This game is also part of the NBA Cup tournament, adding extra fire to the contest.
All things considered, it’s expected that the Rockets’ youthful energy and high scoring rate will create too many issues for the inconsistent home team. Therefore, the primary betting advice is to back the Rockets to win the game outright.
