The NBL26 season is poised to be one of the most unpredictable and compelling in recent memory. A whirlwind off-season saw the league's biggest star, Bryce Cotton, make the most audacious free-agency move in history, shifting the entire balance of power. With superstar imports, rising local talent, and a competitive landscape that is as deep as it's ever been, this season is a punter's paradise. NBL26 Season Preview & Betting Tips

Adelaide 36ers ($4.50 at Dabble)

The undeniable favourites. The arrival of Bryce Cotton has instantly elevated the 36ers from a mid-tier team to a legitimate contender. Paired with explosive NBA talent like Montrezl Harrell and Zylan Cheatham, the 36ers possess a dominant and unguardable offense. Their star power is unmatched, and they are our clear top pick to win the title.

Perth Wildcats ($6.00 at Ladbrokes)

Despite the departure of their franchise player, the Wildcats dynasty is far from over. With a new superstar in G-League Finals MVP Mason Jones and the return to the NBL of Jo Lual-Acuil Jr., the Wildcats have re-tooled on the fly. Their winning culture and deep roster ensures they will be in the mix once again. They are a tough team to beat, particularly at home, and will look to their system and a relentless defence to carry them.

Sydney Kings ($5.50 at Dabble)

The Kings have assembled a star-studded cast, with Kendric Davis joining the likes of Xavier Cooks and the newly acquired Matthew Dellavedova. The talent is there, but questions remain about how the new pieces will gel. They have been tipped by many experts to be a top-four finisher, and at their best, they could be a genuine threat. Again, their ability to gel on both sides of the floor is the big question mark.

Melbourne United ($7.00 at Neds)

A quiet achiever in the pre-season, Melbourne United has flown under the radar but remains a formidable force. They were the most popular pick for a regular season championship, with a roster built for success and a system that has proven to be a winning formula. With Chris Goulding and Milton Doyle leading the charge, they are a well-rounded squad that will compete for a top seed.

Illawarra Hawks ($9.00 at Neds)

The reigning champions have added a three-time NBA champion in JaVale McGee, a move that is both a massive statement and a risk. While his size and defensive prowess will be invaluable, repeating as champions is notoriously difficult. The Hawks will look to their cohesive unit and veteran leadership to navigate the challenges of a deeper league.

Tasmania JackJumpers ($11.00 at Bet365)

The JackJumpers might not have a marquee superstar but hey have an incredibly deep roster and a system built on toughness and grit. Will Magnay and Majok Deng provide a strong frontcourt, and they are a team that will never give up. Don't count them out in a playoff series.

Brisbane Bullets ($11.00 at Dabble)

The Bullets have the talent to surprise people, with a roster that includes established NBL veterans and promising young players. While they might not be in the championship conversation, they have the potential to make a run at the top six. Their challenge will be consistency and getting the new pieces to click.

Cairns Taipans ($13.00 at Next2Go)

The Snakes have a strong import class, with key acquisitions that could lift them to a playoff spot. They are a team that plays an exciting, up-tempo style of basketball under Adam Forde, but their success will hinge on whether their new additions can quickly adapt to the NBL. The addition of Jack McVeigh also states their intent to move up the standings this season.

South East Melbourne Phoenix ($11.00 at Dabble)

The Phoenix are a team with a lot to prove this season. While they have some exciting talent, they have struggled with consistency in the past. If their imports can fire and their local talent can step up, they have the potential to shake up the top six, but a championship is not on the cards for them.

New Zealand Breakers ($17.00 at Bet365)

The Breakers will be looking to rebuild this season after a difficult off-season. They have a core group of talented players but face an uphill battle in a stacked league. It is unlikely they will be a top-six contender this season.
