West Coast vs Sydney Prediction & Betting Tips: AFL 2025 Round 24
Big Offseason for the Eagles
The West Coast Eagles host the Sydney Swans in the final match of their 2025 season, bringing the curtain down on a campaign both clubs will be keen to forget. For the Eagles, it has been a year of immense struggle, culminating in the wooden spoon with just a solitary win to their name. Their form has been wildly inconsistent; two weeks ago, they produced their best performance of the season at home, pushing the ladder-leading Adelaide Crows to the brink in a spirited nine-point loss. However, they followed that effort with a complete capitulation on the road last week, suffering a listless 96-point demolition at the hands of the Western Bulldogs.
Reality Check for the Swans
The Sydney Swans will also be glad to see the back of 2025. After a grand final appearance last year, they have endured a significant drop-off, with their season officially ending this weekend as they are locked into 10th position on the ladder. While a severe injury list hampered the first half of their campaign, their recent form suggests deeper issues. Even with a relatively healthy list last weekend, they were thoroughly outclassed by Geelong, slumping to a 43-point defeat in a performance that highlighted just how far they have fallen from the competition's elite.
Recent History
Recent history between these two sides has been overwhelmingly one-sided. The Swans have dominated the Eagles, winning their last four encounters. This includes some absolute thrashings, most notably a club-record 171-point demolition in 2023, which stands as one of the darkest days in West Coast's history. Sydney has consistently proven to have a game style and system that the rebuilding Eagles have simply been unable to handle.
Eagles or Swans? Here’s Our West Coast vs Sydney Tip
With both teams having nothing but pride to play for, this match is the definition of a dead rubber, where motivation can be unpredictable. The Swans are deservedly strong favourites, but the large +32.5 point spread for the Eagles looks appealing. West Coast has consistently performed better on their home deck, and if they can replicate the effort and intensity they brought against Adelaide two weeks ago, they are more than capable of keeping this contest respectable. The Swans may already have one foot on the plane home, and in a meaningless game, a comfortable win might be all they are after. Expect the Eagles to put up a fight and cover the spread.

West Coast vs Sydney Prop Bet
Here’s Our Best Prop Bet: Cripps 2+ Goals
The ever-reliable Jamie Cripps continues to hit the scoreboard for the lowly Eagles, kicking at least one goal in each of his last five matches, and kicking at least one in 16 of his 20 matches across the season. He’s also kicked multiple goals twice in his last four and with this being at home where the Eagles aren’t as big of underdogs as most weeks, there’s every chance he can hit the scoreboard multiple times again.
