Thoroughbred Racing is back at The Valley in the Saturday time slot this week with nine races on the program. The track has had a redevelopment so it will be interesting to see how the track plays. It’s just a moderate meeting but there are always winners to be found. Race one comes up at 12:20pm. (AEST) and races six to nine are our quaddie legs.

Moonee Valley Racing Tips: Saturday, August 9th 2025
Race 5: Darren Grech Myolama Australia Handicap - 2:40pm (AEST)
(7) Stoli Bolli is first up for the Hayes Team and all eyes are on a Spring victory in a couple of months. It really depends how fit he is at this stage of his campaign but he goes on top because he has won first up previously. He has raced well before at this track too so this looks like a good starting point for him. He won a Flemington jumpout on July 25 so he does look as though he is in for a position campaign.
(1) Harry Got Styles remains at his favourite distance (1000m) and he has run very well on Soft tracks before. Flew home for 2nd at Flemington at his latest. Has more weight here and has a smaller home straight which may be an issue.
(9) Don’t Hope Do has a wide barrier in 11 but he is down in class here and he does go well fresh. Has had one start at The Valley and placed.
(7) Stoli Bolli WIN
$3.40 (2 Units)
Race 6: Ladbrokes SRM In Multis Handicap - 3:20pm (AEST)
(11) Esha is short in odds at just over even money but she looks like she will be a very good horse. On debut over 1000m at Morphettville she smashed them over 1000m and she remains at that distance first up. After winning that day she was all the talk after the South Australian meeting and many punters have been waiting patiently for her next showing. She won two jumpouts in preparation for this. She ran good times in those trials and Damien Lane hops on for the first time.
(3) Bacash won six weeks ago at Flemington and has trialled and won since. He will likely go forward in this and if they go slow up front he could prove hard to catch.
(9) Samudra has drawn inside and punters normally back him into win. Is 1 from 1 over this distance and Jamie Melham goes on for the first time.
(1) Hello Romeo is over the odds (12-1) according to the Hayes stable.
(11) Esha WIN
$2.10 (4 Units)
Race 7: Ranvet Travis Harrison Cup - 3:55pm (AEST)
(5) Sayedaty Sayedaty can win again here for Ciaron Maher. He has won his last couple and gets a 3kg claim with Logan Bates on. On June 28 he won at Caulfield on a Soft track and it is likely to be Soft again. From barrier 7 Bates will likely settle outside the leader in this. The distance is ideal and we will see what he can do at The Valley for the first time.
(3) Relentless Voyager will get back but I reckon he will finish off hard in this race. Hasn’t placed at this track yet but he has finished in the top 3 in both starts on the Soft.
(1) Berkeley Square has won at The Valley previously and even though he will be concentrating on races in about 2 months time, he can ran a forward race in this. Runs well for Jayah Kennedy who is on top.
(5) Sayedaty Sayedaty WIN
$3.00 (2 Units)
