Randwick-Kensington Racing Tips: Wednesday, July 16th 2025
Race 1: Keeneland September Yearling Sale Mdn handicap - 1400m – 12:50pm (AEST)
(1) Kikoira $4.20: 3YO Gelding who has been good in both returning runs over 1400m being narrowly defeated on both occasions. Most recently he was terrific to the line and looks as though he will relish the rise in trip now. Both placings this time in have been on the weather affected ground which proves he is capable once again on the soft deck. Strips fitter and will be closing intently.
(2) Indigo Star $3.00: 3YO gelding who has also been sound in his last two outings. First up run he lobbed in a nice position and kicked nicely down the straight for a three-horse photo finish (Gaps to 4th). Looked as though he needed further, but the opted to drop back in trip and in his second up run he got to the rear and had to do too much work late and was no match for the winner. I’m convinced this trip looks ideal off his first and second up run. Sticky gate but will be launching late.
(3) Invisible Magic $4.00: 3YO Filly who has been sound in all four career runs. She looks to keep improving and is ready to break maiden. Well supported in the market last time out and kept on nicely for third in the heavy conditions. Handles the wet and gets a nice draw today. 2kg claim engaged boosts confidence. Chance.
(2) Indigo Star
$3.00 (2 Units)
Race 4: Traffic Warden @ Darley BM72 - 1550m – 2:35pm (AEST)
(1) Hasty Honey $3.20: 4YO Mare who was dominant over this track/trip/grade last start when dictating from start to finish and won by almost three lengths. She gets back to her own sex now and with the 3kg claim engaged she rates nicely once again. Drawn a lovely alley and has to be the one to beat off last starts effort. On top.
(2) Bella Khadijah $4.20: 3YO Filly who comes here off a sensational win at Hawksbury winning by 2.5L on the wet conditions lugging 6okg. Up in grade now, but strips fitter and handles the conditions well. Early market support suggests she will be going close. Danger.
(8) Crimson Miss $6.00: 4YO Mare who is yet to run a bad race from her three career starts. Ready to tackle this grade/trip third up and gets in super light with the 2kg claim. Value pick.
(1) Hasty Honey
$3.20 (2 Units)
Race 6: Ole Kirk @ Vinery Stud BM72 – 1550m - 3:45pm (AEST)
(1) Russian Roni $9.00/$2.80: 5YO Gelding who has been sound in his last two runs at country tracks. Back to the city now being the only concern. Rock hard fit and gets a nice claim with a handy draw. Capable of winning. Value.
(4) Bat Out Of Hell $6.50/$2.30: 5YO Gelding who gets fourth up today, so is peaking with fitness. Handy last start over 1400m behind Travolta who looks a talented type. This fella has a good record over this trip and when on the wet conditions. Two weeks between runs and Anna Roper gets into the saddle to claim 2kg on top. Bjorn Baker is going well and if this fella can get a nice run in transit he will be hitting the line intently. Each way.
(7) Pink Shalala $5.00: 4YO gelding who we have been on for his last three starts and he has had every chance. He gets pole position today and will be closer throughout which will aid him nicely. Good record over the trip, but has just found it tough to win lately. Will be around the mark.
(4) Bat Out Of Hell E/W
$6.50/$2.30 (1U2U)
