PGA Tour: John Deere Classic Betting Tips

PGA Tour John Deere Classic: Top Contenders

Davis Thompson ($36/Top 20 $2.70 at Betfair)

The defending champion returns to TPC Deere Run, where he set a tournament record at 28-under-par in 2024. While his 2025 season has been mixed, he showcased his capabilities with a T10 finish at The Players Championship in March. His familiarity with the course and ability to go low make him a strong candidate to contend again this year.

Luke Clanton ($36/Top 40 $2.70 at Betfair)

The 20-year-old Florida State standout has shown promise in his early professional appearances. Notably, he secured a T18 finish at the Cognizant Classic in February and a T34 at the Travelers Championship in June. His aggressive playstyle and recent performances indicate he could make a significant impact at the John Deere Classic.

PGA Tour John Deere Classic: Dark Horses

Max Homa ($111/Top 30 $4.50 at Betfair)

A six-time PGA Tour winner, Homa brings experience and resilience to the field. Despite recent struggles, including a missed cut at the RBC Canadian Open, he demonstrated his potential with a T12 finish at The Masters in April. His strong ball-striking and past successes suggest he could find form at TPC Deere Run.

David Ford ($301/Top 40 $8.00 at Betfair)

The 2025 Haskins Award winner earned his PGA Tour card through PGA TOUR University, highlighting his exceptional collegiate career. While his professional results are still developing, his talent and determination position him as a potential breakout player at TPC Deere Run.

PGA Tour John Deere Classic: The Field

Defending champion Davis Thompson leads the field, aiming to replicate his impressive 2024 performance, where he set a tournament record with a 28-under-par total. Joining him are notable players such as Max Homa, Jason Day, and Sungjae Im, all seeking to bolster their standings ahead of the FedExCup Playoffs.

The tournament also features a strong contingent of rising stars. Luke Clanton, NCAA champion Michael La Sasso, and Haskins Award winner David Ford are among the young talents making their mark on the PGA TOUR. Their participation underscores the John Deere Classic's reputation as a launching pad for future stars.

Additionally, world No. 15 Ben Griffin adds depth to the competitive field. His presence, along with other top-ranked players, ensures a high level of competition and excitement for fans and participants alike.

PGA Tour John Deere Classic: The Course

TPC Deere Run, the tournament's host since 2000, is a par-71 course stretching 7,258 yards. Designed by D.A. Weibring, the course is renowned for its scenic beauty, featuring rolling hills and views of the Rock River.

The course is known for its player-friendly layout, with wide fairways and receptive greens, often leading to low scoring. Notably, Paul Goydos and Hayden Springer have both carded rounds of 59 here, highlighting the course's potential for exceptional play.

Beyond its design, TPC Deere Run holds a special place in the community, having helped raise over $189 million for charity since John Deere became the title sponsor in 1998. The course's combination of challenge, beauty, and community impact makes it a standout venue on the PGA TOUR.
