Rosehill Gardens hosts a 10 race card on Saturday with the WJ Mckell Cup over 2000m in the ninth being worth $200k as the feature race of the day. Rosehill finally sees better conditions and should have plenty of quality runners going round with the better conditions expected. The first race commences at 11:00am AEST and the last concludes at 4:30pm AEST. The rail is out 3m and conditions are set to be SOFT, but fine weather predicted, so may see an upgrade. Watch and monitor.

Rosehill Gardens Racing Tips: Saturday, June 28th 2025
Race 6: Schweppes handicap - 1500m – 1:55pm (AEST)
(1) Green Shadows $8.00/$2.40: 5YO gelding who has been holding his form well this preparation. He brings strong formlines, notably finishing close-up behind HEADLEY GRANG on two occasions. His first-up performance was full of merit — narrowly beaten while putting a clear margin on the rest of the field. He now drops in class and benefits from a valuable 3kg claim, which brings him right into this. This looks a very suitable assignment, and with his fitness improving and the right conditions on offer he demands respect. A win wouldn’t surprise.
(2) Thunderlips $3.60: 4YO gelding who has returned in outstanding form this campaign, recording two wins and a second from three runs. His most recent performance was particularly eye-catching — unleashing a powerful turn of foot to burst through the field and score impressively, justifying strong market support. He stays on a soft surface, where he boasts an impeccable record, and the step up to 1500m looks well within his scope given the way he’s been finishing off. Drawn to get a soft run from a favourable gate, he maps perfectly to settle just off the speed and pounce late. He is flying and shapes as a genuine winning chance again. Expect him to go right on with it.
(7) Mickeys Medal $3.60: 4YO Gelding who has been up for a while now but has strung together two handy wins and is chasing the hattrick now. Gets in nicely with Briath Nock claiming 2kg and is a specialist at this track with 3 wins from the 4 attempts. Chance.
(2) Thunderlips
$3.60 (2.5 Units)
Race 9: Toyota Forklift WJ Mckell Cup - 2000m – 3:50pm (AEST)
(2) Loch Eagle $9.50/$2.70: 6YO Gelding who was fantastic last start winning sensationally. Remains on the soft track and looks capable of 2000m now for this third up run. Draws well and will be running on. Value pick.
(3) Elamaz $3.90: 5YO Gelding who is making his debut in Aus. He was purchased for almost $1million and has been terrific overseas. 7 career runs for 4 wins and 3 seconds. Yet to miss the quinella. He has trialled nicely at Randwick and will be looking to make a statement on debut here. Josh Parr steers for the waterhouse and Bott stable. Watch the market.
(6) Glory Daze $4.00: 6YO Gelding who is rock hard fit and won well two back over this trip on the heavy and then was again sound last start on the heavy over this trip. Tackles similar company and getting back onto the soft track looks ideal. Market support has been strong and Morgan for Maher looks a dangerous combo. Happy to be on.
(6) Glory Daze
$4.00 (1.5 Units)
Race 10: Chandon BM78 - 1200m - 4:30pm (AEST)
(2) Eye Of The Fire $6.50: Resuming 4YO Gelding who was sound in all his runs last campaign. Unbeaten when fresh and has a nice soft track record. Gets in okay with the 2kg claim and should be around the mark.
(10) Liberty State $5.00: 5YO mare who impressed at odds in her first up run. He was posted and still managed to run on gamely and won. Should find an easier run this time and will only be improving second up. Consider.
(12) Snack Bar $3.50: 3YO who loomed the winner last run before being nutted late. He ids rock hard fit and looks suited back to 1200m now. Draws well and gets the top booking of Josh Parr. Looks the one to beat and this is d day. Goes well.
(12) Snack Bar
$3.50 (2.5 Units)
