Mooney Valley Betting Tips

Night racing at The Valley continues on Friday with eight highly competitive races scheduled with the first getting us underway at 6:10pm.

The track will be rated Good and I have come up with four best bets on the program with the last of the night concluding at 9:40pm.

Moonee Valley Racing Tips: Friday December 9th

Race 4

(6) Tyita was third beaten 2.5L at this track last start and should be better for that run for the Waller stable. He has the ability to settle handy or put in a sustained run like he did at Bendigo two starts back, but he is untried on Good ground. From barrier five i am counting on Mickey Dee to go forward and lead or sit outside of the leader and in a race that seems to lack depth i think there is only one other danger.

(4) Mexican Fiddler has the inside barrier and settling behind the leader here is the likely outcome in the run. Ethan Brown probably won’t want to get caught three back the inside in this race.

(1) Bob The Horse has been running consistently and does run well for Teo Nugent. He has placed three from four starts on the Good and a placing wont surprise again.

(5) Rayza Warrior is a 29-start maiden but did run a good second at Mornington last time.

(6) Tyita WIn

$6 (1 Unit)

Race 5

(7) Soarhi failed on Heavy tracks in his two runs on it and he definitely prefers the drier surface which he gets here. Despite not running a drum last time at Canterbury, it was an improved effort running 4th when he ran on quite well from the 400m to arrive too late in what was a blanket finish. Damien Oliver goes on and he will be one running on hard over the concluding stages.

(9) Jabbawockeez was on pace when 1st at Swan Hill last start and he and Craig Williams will be on pace again in this race from barrier four. He is unlucky not to be undefeated really after going down by a nose on debut, but the question is if he can run fast on firmer ground. He stays at the mile distance.

(4) Jaffastock goes well on dry ground and should be ready for a forward showing fourth up from a spell.

(10) Ancient Egypt is second up from a short spell and has won second up before. The Good track is ideal, but he can be slow out.

(7) Soarhi WIN

$5 (2 Units)

Race 6

(4) Incentive was sent out a $1.65 chance last start at Wagga when 2nd over the 1065m and despite letting favourite punters down, he was only beaten a nose after he was captured over the concluding stages. Dropping back to the 955m could be the key here and with Blake McDougall on he gets a chance to make amends on a preferred Good surface. Two starts back he was second at Goulburn after settling outside the leader. McDougall will have to go forward from barrier 12.

(2) Chosen Blonde can’t afford to miss the start this time like she did last start. Forgive that run and she has placed at The Valley in her other two attempts.

(9) Southern Front will be running on and if he doesn’t get caught out wide from barrier 13 is a blow out hope.

(10) Jezoulenko is first up but he has won two from four starts on the dry.

(4) Incentive WIN

$9 (1 Unit)

Race 7

(8) Devil’s Fiddle ran on quite well at Kyneton last start when third and that was first up. Her second up form is pretty solidly having placed on both occasions and Jordan Childs will have an option in this race as this horse is versatile on where it sits. From barrier two though, he may want to settle a little bit closer this time compared to last start or even lead if need be, like she did two starts ago at Ballarat when she saluted.

(6) Hennessy Lad is first up and has won first up before. He led and jut got done before he was turned out during the winter.

(9) Israelite Bay has a wide barrier to contend with in 13 but does go well fresh. She bolted in to win her maiden back in April, so she does have some ability.

(12) Imps ran a good second at Kyenton last start when going down by a head and does ride well for Patrick Moloney.

(8) Devil’s Fiddle WIN

$9 (1 Unit)
