Moonee Valley Racing Tips: Friday December 2nd

December 1st 2022, 10:07pm, By: Brendan Bunworth

Mooney Valley Betting Tips

Summer night racing hits Moonee Valley on Friday night and with an early feel of Christmas in the air, it should be a good meeting to attend.

Race one will commence at 6:15pm and gallopers will be running on a Good 4 surface.

Danny O’Brien trains my first best bet which comes up in race three.

Brendan Bunworth has previewed the Moonee Valley card, so check out his preview and free racing tips below!

Moonee Valley Betting Tips: Friday, December 2nd

Race 3

(12) Pitchanun has won here before and will settle on speed which is a trait i like in the first couple of races at The Valley, before we work out the racing pattern. She is consistent and likes Good tracks and was only beaten a nose last time over 2040m. In her last three starts she has settled on pace and has run top three, and Blake Shinn will no doubt try similar tactics again.

(10) Hardly Sweet is another who likes Good tracks and with more fitness on her side now should appreciate the rise in distance.

(2) Ashy Boy has a wide barrier in 13 so Will Gordon will need to try and get a position where he isn't trapped out wide.

(4) Nordic hasn't won in over 12 months but likes dry ground and was racing well 18 months ago.

(12) Pitchanun WIN

$2.40 (3 Units)

Race 6

(1) Star of Chaos gets the blinkers on for the first time which may assist. If you forget her last start her form before that wasn't too bad at Flemington when she tried to lead all of the way but did get tired over the final 100m. This is her fourth run in now and it's time to show up and the Good track should help considering she has won two from seven on it.

(3) Mrs Sippy will be suited by conditions but does have a wider barrier. She's had a poor 12 months really, but she has shown previously that she is up to the grade.

(5) Bubbly Lass went out too hard on Oaks Day at Flemington and if the pace is slower here, she can run a cheeky race.

(6) Versilla has won first up and has had a one month freshen up to go into this without any niggles.

(1) Star of Chaos Each-way

$6.50/$2.20 (1 Unit)

Race 7

*SCRATCHED* (2) Arktika has the inside barrier and meets a somewhat easier race here compared to a couple during the Spring Carnival. Shinn takes the ride this time and will likely try to get to the rails after the mare was trapped wide last start. She has a 50 percent winning record on the Good.

(3) St Lawrence has won both career starts but this is his toughest test resuming after an 11-week spell.

(4) Freedom Escape trialed well and then almost got there at Ladbrokes Park (Sandown) last start. He is lightly raced and will settle around midfield for Matthew Cartwright.

(7) Ima Shelby has a nice barrier in two and the consistent gelding might go better after running a 2nd at his first time at The Valley last start.

(2) Arktika WIN

SCR

Race 8

(15) Endlessly has only won the race but is consistent in having run five seconds in 10 attempts. She has been spelled for just over three months and she normally does run well fresh having won first up before and running two seconds. She has run two seconds here at The Valley. Her Mornington win was excellent back in May and she has the quality of Craig Williams on who loves winning at Moonee Valley night meetings. She is third emergency but should get a run for Team Hawkes.

(12) Quraysha was unlucky last time but she does like this distance. She will settle around midfield and should get a nice cart into the race.

(10) Free Flying Star is better on rain-affected tracks but can run into the placings fresh.

(7) Heskett has the ability to run on and if there is pace on then he will go close to winning. Coming from behind at The Valley in the last race however can sometimes be tricky.

(15) Endlessly WIN

$6.50 (2 Units)
