Ipswich hosts a 9-race card this Saturday and this is the first event at Ipswich as part of the 2025 Queensland Carnival. Race 7 is the Ipswich Cup listed race worth $250,000 followed by the Eye Liner Stakes and Gai Waterhouse Classic both being listed races to see out the card. The first race commences at 11:43am AEST and the last concludes at 4:30pm AEST. The rail is out 0.5m and conditions are set to be good, but as always, watch and monitor throughout the day.

Ipswich Racing Tips: Saturday, June 21st 2025
Race 4: Ray White Ipswich BM80 1100m – 1:28pm (AEST)
(4) Slippin Jimmy has been easy in the market since they opened Wednesday but looks to be a handy type. Impressive win first up last prep before failing to respond to riding latest. Had a trial three weeks ago that suggests he’s returned in good order, so he could improve markedly.
(5) Taltarni Fields comes off two impressive wins when he was challenged before giving a good kick to fight back and score. He will roll forward and make his own luck, he’ll improve third up, and he gets in well at the weights after the claim. Obvious danger.
(9) Enterprise Lucia looks a great each way play here. She’s had a very consistent preparation with form around METALART and JOHN RAMBO which is clearly good enough for this. Two starts ago she SP’d $4.40 before buck jumping for a few strides and losing considerable ground yet she still angled over heels down the straight to get within 2.1L of REMLAPS ANGEL (went enormous / ordered to trial by the stewards / fastest L200m split of the entire meeting). She subsequently trialled over 1000m at Doomben and jumped beautifully before going around under her own steam (good piece of work / beat home YELLOW BRICK who finished second in the G1 Stradbroke last week). They went to 1200m last start and she sat outside the leader on a slow tempo before giving a big kick to hold them all off and win (fastest 4-200m and fourth fastest L200m splits of the entire meeting). She has a slightly sticky gate, but there looks to be good speed on paper which should give her a chance to slot in and run on. I think the horse is flying and is over the odds.

Race 5: River 949FM Bundamba Plate Hcp Class 6 1350m – 2:03pm (AEST)
(1) Betcha The Crown is the class runner in the field who gets in well at the weights after the claim. He was good behind TUFF TU MISS over 1350m last start when he went 4.3L above average for the final 600m (fastest 4-200m and third fastest L200m splits of the race). He’ll be cherry ripe third up, he’ll just need some luck from the gate.
(5) Redford must have a case if DEEP RESPECT does. He was terrific behind HARBOURMASTER himself as he came from well back in the field to get within 0.4L of the winner. He draws a good gate and has a terrific record on top of the ground, but the query is where he settles in the run as he often gets back.
(9) Deep Respect is another that looks a good value play. It was a terrific return over 1200m when he beat all bar SER JOH (who won in a photo) with good gaps in behind (high rating race as they went 6L above average). They went to 1350m at Doomben second up on a heavy 8 track when he settled better than midfield before sticking nearer the inside and working to the line okay (not in the best going? / Raced tight). He stepped out to 1400m last start on another heavy track when he settled better than midfield before turning for home when he was held up at a key stage / struggled to get clear air (still managed to finish within 1.8L of HARBOURMASTER / fifth fastest L200m split of the race / ties in with REDFORD). He plummets 4kgs out of that race, he meets REDFORD 0.5kg better at the weights, he maps to settle better than midfield in a race that’s devoid of a hot tempo on paper, and he’s lengths better when running on top of the ground. He should be hitting peak fitness fourth up and I expect him to improve sharply on a dry track.
(9) Deep Respect E/W

Race 8: Barrier Reef Pools Eye Liner Listed Stakes 1350m - 3:53pm (AEST)
(1) Rockribbed is a super genuine gelding that will roll forward and make his own luck. Had 2 smart wins at BM90 and Listed level before being no match for WAR MACHINE et al in the G3 BRC Sprint (found that a bridge too far). If he gets away with some cheap sectionals, he’ll be hard to get past.
(2) Warnie is our best bet of the day at Ipswich! It was a really good return first up over 1200m at Gosford when he was never on the track but still warmed up nicely to hit the line hard and get within 0.4L of BARBER (BRUDENELL and SPACEWALK since ran well). He stayed at 1200m last start when he reared at the start and flopped out the back from a wide gate before thundering home to finish third behind FRONT PAGE (clearly should’ve won the race / zipped home some 11.8L above average for the final 600m / fastest 6-400m, 4-200m, and L200m splits of the race). This looks an ideal set up for him third up as he’ll be hitting top fitness, he draws a much better gate to settle closer in transit, he goes well on top of the ground, he looks like he wants every bit of 1350m, and he still has upside.
(15) Foryunate Kiss is the best roughie in the race. Terrific return over 1200m at Warrnambool when she was 4-wide the entirety and still hit the line hard to get within 0.5L of DASHING. She went to the Helen Coughlan Stakes last start over 1200m at Eagle Farm and was taken back to last from a wide gate (was no hope turning for home / sneaky good run as she had the second fastest L200m split of the race). Draws gate 1 today, gets in on the minimum, the extra trip is a bonus, and dry ground is a tick. Expecting better.
