Happy Valley tonight is an interesting one. I’m banking on the inside being inferior which can be a risky play at Happy Valley but has been the case in recent meetings over the C+3 course. We’ll see how that goes but keep an eye on the selections as I’ve pointed out horses more favoured if the bias is towards horses drawn well and racing on the rail.

Happy Valley Racing Tips: Wendesday November 29th
Race 2: Edinburgh Castle Hcp (C3) – 1000m (21:40 AEST)
(5) Humble Star should realistically win again off his latest performance over this trip. He was too good there and with the setup on the speedmap here should get a similar run and be too good yet again.
(3) Explosive Witness I guess would be the danger given he ran 3rd to the favourite last time. The margin was big enough to suggest he won’t turn the tables but crazier things have happened.
(1) Grateful Heart also gets a nice run from his gate and has been racing well since being relegated to this grade. No reason he can’t get a win soon.
(5) Humble Star win

Race 4: Crookston Castle Hcp (C5) – 1800m (22:40 AEST)
(1) Sun Of Makfi must be desperate for another win given how long its been for him. He’s been racing well and improving to the point he looks a solid chance here at quite a nice e/w price.
(6) Fortune Triple form aligns with the top pick here so they shouldn’t be far away from each other in the run and in the finish.
(7) Turtle Again goes on top if the rail turns out to be favourable (which I’m predicting it won’t).

Race 5: Balmoral Castle Hcp (C4) – 1200m (23:10 AEST)
(3) Rubylot is the next best bet of the card given his consistency in 3 career runs even though he’s yet to break through for a win. Zac Purton will get the most out of him tonight and should settle nicely one off the rail from barrier 8.
(1) Act Of Faith is the obvious danger drawn gate 2. I’m banking on the rail being slightly inferior tonight but if I’m wrong and the pattern favours inside, my tip changes to this horse.
(5) Talents Supremo had all favours to win last time but with barrier 1 this time might just get all favours again. Act Of Faith will be very hard to beat if the inside is favourable but this horse shouldn’t be far away either.
