Great little meeting at Hong Kong tonight to break up Melbourne Cup week at Flemington before a big Oaks Day tomorrow. Keen on a few runners mentioned below but expecting a quality night of racing from start to finish at Happy Valley. Good luck if you’re getting involved.

Happy Valley Racing Tips: Wednesday November 8th
Race 1: Big Wave Bay Hcp (C5) – 1200m (20:40 AEST)
(8) Happily Friends looks well placed here off the back of 2 placings this prep now heading into his 3rd run of the preparation. He should lead from the good barrier and be given every hope at an e/w price.
(7) Dashing Triumph was good last time and I was keen on him based off his run 2 starts ago. No reason he can’t run well again here but might need to improve to win.
(11) Bell Of Victory is not without a chance here at a nice e/w price. Karis Teetan is aboard and Douglas Whyte has been absolutely flying of late.
(8) Happily Friends e/w

Race 2: Chung Hom Kok Hcp (C4) – 1200m (12:10 AEST)
(3) Exuberant won impressively last time and was runner up the start prior. He’s clearly going well enough to be considered a top hope here apart from the wide draw which may pose a few difficulties. Good price to find out.
(11) Regent Glory is a deserved short price here for the Hayes team with Karis Teetan riding from a good draw in barrier 3. Should be hard to beat.
(2) Victory Scholars gets barrier 1 here which is a massive plus. Expect him to be right in the mix in this field.
(3) Exuberant e/w

Race 5: The Community Chest Cup (C4) – 1650m (22:40 AEST)
(8) Strongest Boy maps sweetly here from a neutral barrier draw with Zac Purton aboard. He’s going to slot in perfectly midfield off the rail and be nursed into the race around the bend. With even luck he’s the top chance here and worth backing.
(7) Amazing Boy is never far away when he’s racing in form and he’s been doing just that in recent starts. Should get every possible chance from barrier 1 with the flying Andrea Atzeni aboard.
(5) Lucky Banner is another at an e/w price which could be worth some interest. He was 2nd last start and appears to be finally finding his feet and showing improvement in his racing. If that trend continues, a win isn’t far away.
(8) Strongest Boy e/w
